Sisterhood of the Travelling Teacup. Friday, December 13, 2013. We are the eye of our own upcoming storm. So my husband Tony and I went to the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce (CVCC) luncheon today, which we do from time to time to stay abreast of what is happening in the CVCC community, and get a little face time (the old fashioned sort of face time, wherein you actually sit across a table from other people) with some of our community members. When I declined the tortierre explaining I am celiac, the...

Sisterhood of the Travelling Teacup. Thursday, March 12, 2015. Oh my goodness gosh! Spring arrived early this year. perhaps too early, and if we get a long dry summer in our semi-arid valley, I may regret rejoicing at the warmer days now. But it is hard to be level headed about it all when I have a lovely new greenhouse to play in! So I can ensure no freezing temps in the new space and start all my plants weeks and week earlier than normal! So without further ado. I present the Greenhouse-Mahal! I am get...

Safe in the Fire Swamp: October 2007
http://rachelsblog42.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Safe in the Fire Swamp. Buttercup: We'll never survive. Westley: Nonsense. You're only saying that because no one ever has. Friday, October 19, 2007. 1 How old do you think you'll be when you die? As old as I will get. 2 How will you die? 3 What will your last words be? 4 What will your epitaph read? Am I there yet? 5 Any parts of your body you wouldn't donate? My knees. Who would want them? 6 What song will be played at your funeral? 7 Cremated, buried or "other"? All I need is love. View of 1000 Peaks.

Sisterhood of the Travelling Teacup: June 2013
http://travellingteacup.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Sisterhood of the Travelling Teacup. Sunday, June 23, 2013. Relay for Life. 2013. I wish I could remember her exact words… But they went something like this: “You cannot imagine the feeling you get when you look at one of those glowing bags and it has your name on it.”. We were walking slowly, hearing the bagpipes sing both a sad lament for those who lost, and a determined celebration for those who survived, their battles with cancer. This, THIS was what it was all about. There was dancing, music, food a...

Sisterhood of the Travelling Teacup. Friday, June 13, 2014. My baby boy. my new girl. and my grandbaby on the way. so much love! Well, let’s face it. This day came as no great surprise to any of us, but just like Christmas, that does not make it any less happy an event. The two of you have just always fit. When you were little kids, when you were friends as teens… and when romance blossomed in high school, well, it just seemed to be a natural fit to all of us. But always happy (except when they would sca...

Sisterhood of the Travelling Teacup. Saturday, March 21, 2015. The social spread of hatred. It is a bit like Old Yeller out there. On Facebook I mean, and social media in general. It started out well enough. Getting to see cute posts, photos of family, keep in touch with all sorts of people and participate in groups! Ah, such fun. But like many things, including lovely, unvaccinated yellow dogs, we seem to have a tiny problem. Facebook appears to have developed rabies. Oh, well done. Look how they are fa...
