clay and soil: July 2011
http://jdwolfepottery.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 22, 2011. We probably could have planted less sunflowers in our garden, but the kids got a hold of the birdseed this spring and were tossing it around with such gleeful abandon, who in their right mind would stop them? Links to this post. Thursday, July 14, 2011. This was our first year growing garlic. We tucked cloves in the ground late last fall with hope and a prayer, and were finally able to reap our harvest, 8 months later. We are hooked! A very satisfying experience. Links to this post.

clay and soil: Potato Lovage Soup
http://jdwolfepottery.blogspot.com/2012/03/lovage.html
Saturday, March 24, 2012. Small cloud plate and bowl. With lovage fresh from the garden. My new favorite herb in my garden is lovage. It is a robust perennial that can be used in place of celery in any recipe. It has a hollow stem, so try it as a straw for your bloody marys. I love it in smoothies. As around here it is much easier than celery to grow, and during the summer I can have a steady supply on hand. Tonight I am going to whip up some potato and lovage soup, I've adapted this recipe here. Basil, ...

Saturday, April 28, 2012. Remind me next year to not bother going to the market on the last weekend in April. It is ALWAYS miserable and dreary, while the weekend before has always been a glorious welcome into Spring. Interesting how predictable these weather patterns can be.
