Lady Show: The Conversation. I think I might have found my new favorite show. I love nothing more than ladies talkin’ about bein’ ladies (check out my blog title for proof), and that’s exactly what The Conversation. This show is amazing because, unlike other women’s shows with similar titles (The View, The Talk), it actually focuses on real conversations between women about their lives. Not the “She can do it all, and so can you! Watch the first episode of The Conversation here! Tags: amanda de cadenet.

The Ways Your Grandma and I are Similar. Both occasionally fall asleep at 8:30 on weekends. Both enjoy watching the Ken Burns national parks documentary on PBS. Can both identify the voice of Tom Hanks in the narration of said documentary. Both like to “take a break” from listening to audiobooks by checking out what’s on NPR. Both love nothing more than a pair of slipper socks. Both eat lots of soft foods (oatmeal, smoothies, applesauce). Neither enjoys leaving her apartment once it’s dark. The best part...

Welcome to Ladyville
http://welcometoladyville.com/2015/04/24/podcasts-i-love
My life lately has consisted of mostly writing, with occasional breaks to hang out with my dog. Wake up, go to my writing-related job, come home, eat dinner, work out if I’m smart, and then write other things (book, book reviews, HelloGiggles articles) until bed. It’s great and awesome and literally my dream, but does it make for interesting blog posts? It does not, which is why Welcome to Ladyville has been pretty silent. But I. I’ve written before about my love of Emily Gould. Talk about the cover of.

Ladyville Book Club: ‘Friendship’ by Emily Gould. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been reading Emily Gould’s writing since I was in college. I’ve always loved her voice and sense of humor, even though I live in Ohio and she writes a lot about very New York specific things. So of course I was super excited to read her new novel Friendship, and guess what, guys? I was not disappointed! Good at writing dialogue that flows naturally and at making you care about flawed characters. It just felt good to read a b...

I recently read Shelf Discovery. Her weird genius brother, Sam! The time she wanted her name on her shirt but it was too long! There’s a lot to say about Anastasia, but that’s not the point right now. Right now, I want to talk about Alice. Alice is one of the most interesting characters in young adult fiction, and it pains me that no one ever mentions her! 8220;I found a copy of a poem I had written in third grade:. There are lots of drops in the ocean,. There are lots of stars in the blue;. Now if that&...

The Things That Will Happen When People Find Out You’re Writing a Book. Most people will not care. This is because they’re human beings with lives of their own that don’t revolve around you (weird). This is fine. This is, actually, vastly preferable to some of the other things that will happen, so be cool with it. Just talk about something else. Talk about. People will tell you that J.K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter on napkins. Nod politely. 8220;But it’s not about vampires, right? You don’t think so.
