Wednesday, August 11, 2010. Great Salt Lake 8-11-10. Today Donna and I went to Antelope State Park which is a island roughly 4 miles wide and 17 miles long in the middle of the Great Salt Lake. The whole island was a ranch until 1981 when the state took it over. The ranch began in 1848 and ran continuous until 1981. Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Trip to Salt Lake City 8-9-10. Today Donna and I left the Bryce Canyon National Park area and headed up to Salt Lake City. The country sure changes rapidly. We are going to be in Salt Lake City four days. Today we take a historical city tour. Hopefully after the tour I can go to the Family History Library to do some further research on my ancestors. Monday, August 23, 2010. Today Donna and I went driving all the back roads we could find in the north end of the park looking for hard to find creatures. We managed to get to 10, 562 ft elevation. Saw some interesting scenery on the way, too many pictures to post on the blog site though. After looking and driving all the dirt back roads we went to Fort Yellowstone and wouldn't you know we found the bull elk I have been looking for laying in the grass watching the tourist go by. Grand Tetons 8-16 and 17-10.

Friday, August 27, 2010. Drive to Mount Rushmore 8-26-10. We drove a narrow curvey rode up for 9 miles until we reached the top at a elevation or 10, 380 ft.
