How long does an EPC last? For both, Domestic and Commercial, EPC's are valid for 10years. How much does one cost? Costs vary depending on size, complexity and location, as a rough guideline £60-£70 for a Domestic and from £180 for Commercial. Please contact me for a more accurate quote. How long does it take to get an epc? For Domestic Properties it shouldn’t take more than 24 hours (unless there are problems with your landmark address) from when the assessment has been completed. It is the responsibility of the landlord or seller to ensure that a Commercial EPC has been undertaken before the property can be sold or let. This has been phased in by the government during 2008 to help try and reduce the countries co2 levels as buildings are responsible for almost 50% of the countries total carbon footprint. Again, the certificate will be joined by a recommendation report, suggesting what improvements could be made to reduce the carbon footprint and to help save money.

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is required for any property being sold or let. It is an assessment of the properties overall energy consumption, giving an estimate of the co2 emissions and costs, in order to try and help reduce carbon impact. The factors which effect this are heating, hot water systems, insulation, age and build type of property to mention but a few. Once completed, the report will suggest recommendations to help reduce the properties footprint and reduce your bills.
