This was one of the dessert made during Lakshmi Habba and also when people used to go on long vacation 20 years ago ;). 2 or 3 rave unde would fill up any hungry person, I guess. I made this rave unde for the Varamahalakshmi pooja. First time I tried this after hearing the recipe from my Mom as usual. Came out really good and yummy. My 3-year loved it. So this is a big hit for me as a Mom. Fine Rave (Sooji) or Chirotee Rave - 2 cups. Ghee - 2 Tblsp.

Seemebadnekai is called chayote squash, I guess that's a spanish word, I am not sure. In India the bottom part is kind of elongated but in US it kind of fits into your palm. Mustard - 1/2 tsp. Urad Dal - 1tsp. Channa Dal - 1 tsp. Green Chillies - 6. Curry leaves - 10. Coconut grated/powder - 1Tblsp. Ginger (grated) - 1/2tsp. Coriander Leaves for garnishing. 1 Slice the seemebadnekai into small cubes. 2 Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and wait for it to splutter. 5 Add seemebadnekai cubes and fry for 2 mins.

Avarekai or the flat beans or the Papdi lilva as known in Indian stores. One of my favourite. First dish I cooked while I was 11 years old, was avarekai curry or saaru. Badanekai gojju: (Eggplant / Badnekai / Brinjal). Inspired by R's recipe. When I was not feeling well, R made this gojju armed with no recipe. Thats right, R did not want me to give any instructions but wanted to be creative in the kitchen. The recipe turned out yummy. Below is my effort to recreate R's creative recipe. There is a new series on BBC 2 called Baking Made Easy. Pre Made, All butter, Puff Pastry. Preheat your oven to 220 degrees C. Roll out the pastry until it is reasonably thin (not too thin though – about the thickness of a coin). Cut up the sausages into reasonable sized chunks. Cut up the Puff Pastry into rectangular strips, wide enough for each sausage chunk and long enough to roll completely around the sausage with a bit extra at the bottom. Whisk/beat the egg in a glass or cup to make an egg wash.
