Le Tartout : An Art Outlet

Le Tartout : An Art Outlet. Sunday, November 8, 2015. Listen to Kurt Schwitters performing his Ursonate. This is from the CD lunapark 0,10. Which contains several recordings of (mostly avantgarde, or modernist) writers reading from their own works (mostly poems, fortunately). I purchased this CD a few years ago, with the occasion of that exquisitely curated DADA exhibition. The reason I selected Kurt Schwitters' reading is that it gives us a key to the sound poems. Here is the sound poem, in written form:.

Le Tartout : An Art Outlet: KARAWANE

http://letartout.blogspot.com/2009/08/karawane-sound-poem-by-hugo-ball-one-of.html

Le Tartout : An Art Outlet. Friday, August 7, 2009. The sound poem by Hugo Ball. One of the Zürich Dadaists. And a masterful interpretation of the poem:. A great interpretation; others, such as this one. By Trio Exvoco of Switzerland are, by comparison, downright depressing. Among other things, they lack an important - and maybe the essential - dimension of Dada, and of the avant. In general: its youth. Youth. At 2 am (you can't go mad while hungry; not if you're sane and healthy).* *. Is necessarily awa...

Le Tartout : An Art Outlet. Monday, August 22, 2011. BRIEF] .And the Best Last Lines from (Mostly English Language) Novels. Eugène Delacroix: George Sand (1838). Courtesy of my friend MP, apropos the previous post. About "the best 50 opening sentences in English-language fiction," here come the "100 best last lines from novels," by way of American Book Review. Lists can be very entertaining - and lists about and from literature are so rare, that I do hope you will thoroughly enjoy these. Can be found here.

Le Tartout : An Art Outlet: The City (2)

http://letartout.blogspot.com/2011/06/city-2.html

Le Tartout : An Art Outlet. Tuesday, June 7, 2011. I am always mesmerized by those shots, usually at the beginning of movies, in which the camera floats over some body of water towards a cityscape, and the lights of a city. The video below is something similar, as it illustrates, in a way, some of the beauty and fascination of the city (on which I touched in a previous post. Indeed, I do not find the lights of the city estranging; to the contrary, and especially when they are produced by human movement.

Le Tartout : An Art Outlet: GK Chesterton

http://letartout.blogspot.com/2011/09/gk-chesterton.html

Le Tartout : An Art Outlet. Wednesday, September 21, 2011. A good article by Jay Parini about Chesterton in. The Chronicle of Higher Education. This mainstream attention to GKC might be due to the publication of a new major biography, by Ian Ker. Followed by featured articles in the Times Literary Supplement and, I suppose, other outlets of the literary world. This is all good news. Chesterton is a delight to read, especially when he is at his best, which I would consider to be in Heretics. Stories that ...

Le Tartout : An Art Outlet: The Ages of Man

http://letartout.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-ages-of-man.html

Le Tartout : An Art Outlet. Tuesday, October 9, 2012. The Ages of Man. I always felt that every age has its own atmosphere, its own "air." Correspondingly, there are ages that feel akin, and others that repulse me. The Roman period inclines even more towards worldly "virtues" - honor and debauchery, war and commerce, and what looks like a boring, bourgeois everyday life. Jan Davidsz De Heem: A Table of Desserts (1640). The turn of the century brings again exciting, burning times; for me, Vienna, symbolis...

The Slug and the Beetle – Fable IV | The Writer's Apprentice

https://thewritersapprentice.wordpress.com/2011/08/03/the-slug-and-the-beetle-fable-iv

The Writer's Apprentice. The Slug and the Beetle – Fable IV. On August 3, 2011. Once upon a time, a slug liked to come out at night and eat the garden plants, taking big bites right out of the middle of the leaves. So, one night, as was his custom, he rose at ten sharp and headed for the cabbage. He saw there the choicest, juiciest leaf yet, but right in the middle of it was a big beetle. Sometimes, what we think is to be ours is not to be ours after all. 9654; No Responses. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
