More than a Pair of Chutes: Unidentified Chicks
http://morethanapairofchutes.blogspot.com/2012/05/unidentified-chicks.html
More than a Pair of Chutes. Monday, May 21, 2012. Is anyone a chicken expert? I ordered 38 chicks this spring. 12 Ameraucana, 8 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes and 8 Seramas. Of the 38, only 20 were shipped. Of the 20, only 15 made it alive. Of the 15, only 13 made it past the first day. Of the 13, only 2 are the breed I ordered. They substituted the Ameraucanas with Olive Egger chicks. That means they bred either their Ameraucana rooster or hen with a dark egg layer, probably a Maran. What are the other 10?

Started back when we owned land and planned to build a house. I've been saving ideas in my red 3-ring binder for a long time. I finally got to put them all to use! Here's the before pic. Final coat of mud. Most of the flooring down, (just doing stick-down tiles for now. Couldn't make up my mind on what I wanted permanently, so we went for t...Wall ...

More than a Pair of Chutes. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. An Easy Cake Ball tutorial. I realized I've posted pictures of cake balls twice and never given the recipe. It's really hard. Cool. 2 Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl. 3 Add 1/2 or so cream cheese icing from a can. September 5, 2011 at 4:22 PM. Septe...

More than a Pair of Chutes. Thursday, March 1, 2012. Of seeds and chickens. I've been away. Far, far away. From an easy life. There have been a ton of things go wrong in my life lately. The chickens were happy today. Brady is getting ready to move out - the upcoming Spring is making him very mean. And, I discovered 2 cracked...Sorry...

More than a Pair of Chutes. Friday, October 21, 2011. Pumpkin Cake Pops - A more detailed Pop Tutorial. I'm not so good at making cupcakes. I'm pretty good at making them taste yummy, but not so good at decorating. I don't think I'm patient enough nor artsy enough to create something so intricate. Guess I could make them and stick Oreos or peanut butter cups on them. I've stuck strawberries on them before. Or mint. I'm real earthy like that. This week, I made pumpkin cake pops. They were supposed to ...
