Life after DUI
A chronicle of our family's life after my wife was hit by a drunk driver. Friday, October 30, 2009. I'm asked sometimes how we're doing. The truth is, we're not doing well. I nearly put myself in the pysch ward on Friday last week because we're just getting snowed under despite all the efforts we're putting in to stay solvent, stay sane and stay healthy. Take it home and look at it? So it's another bill to pay. I am not recovering well either. The doctor put me in a wheelchair on Tuesday. People ...Thank...
The Afterlife | Joining society, sports, and life after Duke.
Joining society, sports, and life after Duke. Confessions of a Serial Dater. To The Mother of Twins. Or to any mother, for that matter. I do not envy you. I admire you, beyond a reasonable doubt, but I do not envy you. If your children are of the age to read, show them this letter so I can immediately instruct them to apologize to you, because holy mother of pearl dealing with them as infants/toddlers/teenagers/humans has to be MISERABLE. I don’t even understand. How do you do it? Did I even laugh? 8230;...
Life After Duncan | Collected Musings of an NBA fanatic
Collected Musings of an NBA fanatic. The Odd Inner Peace of Early Playoff Exits. May 13, 2016. Another year, another incorrect playoff prediction for a two-season losing streak. Another supposed passing of the torch – this time will it be for good? Yet, oddly enough, I’m not mad. Even before the game was over, I was in pure optimism mode. “If we lose, we’re losing to a team we match up horribly with. If we win, what a comeback! 8221; I may be at peace, but it’s still hard to let go of greatness. I’...

Life after DVT's
Having suffered from DVT's in both legs in 2001 aged 27, I continued on regardless. Recently I aquired two new clots. This blog is my documenting what happens to me next. Thursday, 9 October 2008. Returned to work today after a month away due to clots etc. Was nice to see some familiar faces but a little weird returning to the same old same old. Not that I'm complaining, things getting back to normal is all part of recovery I believe. Although somethings are not quite the same. Monday, 29 September 2008.
