Summer of Science: June 2012
http://sciencesummer.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
When kids and science collide. Monday, June 18, 2012. There are more experiments than any one mom has the patience to try, even when the kids are more than willing. We're still discovering great sources for experiment ideas, but here's a list of our favorites so far:. Also where Ms. Granger finds all her experiment ideas. There are thousands, if not millions of blogs out in cyberspace where people ponder, conjecture, theorize, apply, explode, and explore different types of science. We've found that o...

Summer of Science: July 2010
http://sciencesummer.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
When kids and science collide. Thursday, July 29, 2010. The Colorful (and Delicious! Yesterday, Tater Tot and I had the house to ourselves. That rarely happens, and so we decided to take advantage of our freedom and try out some more experiments from the Stepping into Science. Kit Tater Tot, never one to fall prey to moderation, chose seven experiments to try, all of them with the potential to create a very large mess. Of course. We started with one called The Color. For our second attempt, we decided to...

We've already been out on the water a few times this season, but the weather hasn't been too cooperative. So since we haven't really got any reviews to post yet, here's a little meet and greet post for you in which I introduce the girls. No, not those girls. I'd you to meet Jayne and Vera. Tater Tot is ready to roll. Or, paddle. Jayne has a nifty plastic reclining backrest tha...

Summer of Science: Crispy, Crunchies
http://sciencesummer.blogspot.com/2010/07/crispy-crunchies.html
When kids and science collide. Tuesday, July 13, 2010. About a week ago, we started some water cress seeds in a shallow dish. We sprinkled the seeds on top of some shredded paper towels, and used our nifty little pipettes to water them. We put the dish in a sunny windowsill and watched and waited. We quickly learned that the water dries up really fast in those hot windowsills! We had to water our seeds several times a day to make sure that they didn't dry out. Notice I'm using past tense. Nothing goes be...

Knitting and the hidden art of home making. Laquo; A Few Sock Patterns. February is the New January. February 2, 2015 by greenethumb. Having New Year’s Day on January 1st just doesn’t work for me. I’m not going to spoil the surprise by showing it here, but if you want to take a peek, the pattern is called Buttercup’s Heroes. And is inspired by one of my all time favorite movies, “The Princess Bride”. I have to say, I LOVE this sock. I know it’s not polite to love any of your ...Enter your comment here.

Knitting and the hidden art of home making. Laquo; February is the New January. More of the Madame. March 23, 2015 by greenethumb. So my life has been insane–we’re moving again–and I’ll discuss that and what I’ve been knitting lately next time, but for now I just need to freak out (in a good way) because the NEW BOOK IS ALMOST OUT! I’ve been sitting on these two patterns for quite some time, and not talking about them (which is extremely hard for me, and now the wait is over.). First of all, what book?

And listening to the chorus of 8 billion crickets is kind of cool for a while, though sometimes they are so loud you can hardly hear yourself think. But I am not a fan of bugs. They have their place, but it is not in my house or near my body. PS – I definitely won’t miss this much raking:. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
