Life in my houseful of boys: To iron or not to iron?
http://lifeinmyhousefulofboys.blogspot.com/2010/09/to-iron-or-not-to-iron.html
Wheat and Dairy Free Recipes. Free From Christmas Bakes. Tuesday, 28 September 2010. To iron or not to iron? Just a quick post tonight. I feel there are so many other things I should be doing, not least that big pile of ironing in the corner, but I'm trying my best to ignore it! I think it must be that Scottish Presbyterian reserve and not wanting to blow ones own trumpet, so to speak. So, now it's time to decide.20 minutes of ironing? Or off to bed? Gaelic word of the day:. 29 September 2010 at 02:58.

Life in my houseful of boys: Things I'm loving...
http://lifeinmyhousefulofboys.blogspot.com/2015/05/things-i-loving.html
Wheat and Dairy Free Recipes. Free From Christmas Bakes. Friday, 8 May 2015. Some of the simple things I've loved this week. Calum (12) had a history project to do. His class were told to think of a question about anything in history and then to find out what they could to answer their question. Calum decided to use his love of food and his interest in the Second World War to find out more about rationing. He drew up this poster with the facts he had learned on it. Which leads me on to this. We've enjoye...

Life in my houseful of boys: Recipe of the Week - Hebridean Oatcakes
http://lifeinmyhousefulofboys.blogspot.com/2010/09/recipe-of-week-hebridean-oatcakes.html
Wheat and Dairy Free Recipes. Free From Christmas Bakes. Thursday, 9 September 2010. Recipe of the Week - Hebridean Oatcakes. As promised last week, this weeks recipe is for the oatcakes to have with your soup. They are kind of 'rustic' in style. Just like my granny would make. Fat and chunky and not too neat around the edges. They crumble and melt in your mouth. These are also delicious with a thick spread of butter and a chunk of cheese. Or some hot smoked salmon. 1/4 tsp baking powder. I've forgotten ...

Life in my houseful of boys: Make it Monday - Using up the stash
http://lifeinmyhousefulofboys.blogspot.com/2015/05/make-it-monday-using-up-stash.html
Wheat and Dairy Free Recipes. Free From Christmas Bakes. Monday, 11 May 2015. Make it Monday - Using up the stash. I mentioned last week that I have a couple of new crochet projects on the go. When I finished the big stripey blanket I had little bits of each of the 16 colours leftover and I decided I would try and use them up. I decided I would make the flowers out of each of the colours and frame them all in a neutral colour. I'm really pleased with how the first few are looking. It's looking quite plai...

Wheat and Dairy Free Recipes. Free From Christmas Bakes. Thursday, 5 September 2013. Recipe of the Week - Mint Aero Slice. Time for a return to the Recipe of the Week, I think. About 8oz milk chocolate to spread on top. Super easy to make. Melt the butter, chocolate and syrup in a pan over a low heat. Love the n...

Life in my houseful of boys: A medieval birthday banquet (and how to build a castle cake)
http://lifeinmyhousefulofboys.blogspot.com/2011/01/medieval-birthday-banquet-and-how-to.html
Wheat and Dairy Free Recipes. Free From Christmas Bakes. Monday, 24 January 2011. A medieval birthday banquet (and how to build a castle cake). On the off-chance that anyone might be planning a medieval style party and be in need of some instructions for building a castle cake, I thought I'd share how I made James' cake. You will need a couple of hours to spare though, and the cute helper is optional! Firstly, I made a double batch of Victoria Sponge. Now I had to assemble the cake/castle. Oh, yes, the c...
