Life in the Muddle. Monday, January 30, 2006. I found a note today in my son’s pencil book. It had a drawing of a heart. Granted, if you had seen it, you would have thought it was a drawing of a circle with a dent in it, or a two headed sausage, but I know from experience that it’s a heart. Oh that’s so cute , I said to him. Then I added, But you didn’t finish writing your whole name inside. I handed him the note back with the heart with the letters JA. He mumbled again, looking down at the kitchen table.

Sunday, June 2, 2013. I'm writing this on the eve of our last day of preschool. Ever. Tomorrow my second child, (aka: my last. Child), will "graduate" from the hallowed halls of early childhood education and wing her way into Kindergarten. After six years of one or both of my kids attending preschool, it's now almost over. And I feel like I'm "graduating", too. Preschool changed all that. I wish I was kidding. But a lonely momma has no pride. But mostly, i. And I made it with a little help from my friends.
