Life in the Orchard. A Little Crafting, Cooking, Gardening and Living. Out Of Control Chickens (ok not really I am being dramatic). Life in the Orchard. May 16, 2014. Last summer I finally bit the bullet and bought bark to fill in all my flower beds. It’s great because it makes your yard look polished and it. Helps control weeds. Not to mention it helps retain moisture so you can water your plants less. I’d say they are pretty manicured. Nothing spectacular but clean and maintained. How could I stay mad?

Life in the Orchard. A Little Crafting, Cooking, Gardening and Living. Finding Motivation To Pay Off Large Debts. Life in the Orchard. May 14, 2014. I have been thinking and thinking about how and when I will get back on the debt free track! I want it to be sooner than later. So how does one stay motivated to pay off large debts when they feel like it’s not possible? Here is my game plan. 1 Start with the smallest debt. 2 Make a plan. 3 Set goals and reward yourself. 4 Visualize life without that debt.

Things to know before moving to the country | Life in the Orchard

Life in the Orchard. A Little Crafting, Cooking, Gardening and Living. Things to know before moving to the country. Life in the Orchard. May 26, 2014. Back when my husband and I decided to pack up and move to the country I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I grew up on my grandparent’s ranch as a child but I never lived there and I was a kid, I didn’t pay attention to anything besides playing in mud and running around like a crazy person. 1 Leaving the house is a mission. With gas at $4. I had ...

Deliciously Simple Chicken Hummus Sandwich | Life in the Orchard
https://lifeintheorchard.wordpress.com/2014/05/30/deliciously-simple-chicken-hummus-sandwhich
Life in the Orchard. A Little Crafting, Cooking, Gardening and Living. Deliciously Simple Chicken Hummus Sandwich. Life in the Orchard. May 30, 2014. I have been avoiding eating processed meats so my lunch menu has been a bit tricky. When I say tricky I really mean time-consuming. During the lunch rush at my house it is hard to have a good nutritious lunch so I need meals that are easy and quick or else I will end up eating less healthy alternatives. Grilled Chicken is great! This is a lighter alternativ...

A Little Cute, A Little Unexpected. JESUS, Y’ALL! February 26, 2014. The craft room is finally done! Here’s a quick reminder of what it looked like when we first bought the house:. We took down the wire shelving, pulled up the carpet, painted over the blue wall and finished off the wall under the cabinets. Then I moved all of my junk in … (this is not the “after” shot). Another angle. A mish-mash of all of my crap…. The colors were inspired by this fabric. It all started with raising my workstation.

Life in the Orchard. A Little Crafting, Cooking, Gardening and Living. Honey Lime Skewers… A Tasty Dinner Fail. Life in the Orchard. May 13, 2014. I saw these Honey Lime Skewers on Pinterest. And I knew I had to make them. Ashley’s picture of them made my mouth water! We take them over to my in-laws to barbecue and we find out there is a wasp nest in the barbecue! Ok, no problem my husband cleared those pest out. Thankfully they still tasted AMAZING. We ate the chicken over a bowl of garlic brown rice.

Life in the Orchard. A Little Crafting, Cooking, Gardening and Living. Garden Fresh Chicken Zucchini Chili. Life in the Orchard. June 1, 2014. It is that time of year… The sun is out and the air is warm. This means the beginning of an abundant amount of zucchini! When my plants first start producing I love it and I can’t wait to cook up all my zucchini! I came across a recipe called Chicken and Zucchini Chili from Eat Good 4 Life. 1 lb chicken breast. 1 large onion, chopped. 2 zucchinis, diced. 2 15 oz c...

Life in the Orchard. A Little Crafting, Cooking, Gardening and Living. Unexpected Benefits of an Emergency Fund. Life in the Orchard. June 4, 2014. Every month I am able to keep my $1000 baby emergency fund. I know that for some this is laughable but for some it is relatable. I have never been a person to save for a rainy day. When I want something you better believe I can save for it! How you may ask? So here we are with a bill estimated at $1500 to fix our truck. I was so irritated because I knew i...

ordinary time | on living life in the ordinary
On living life in the ordinary. This is the end. September 29, 2013 2 Comments. Well, dear friends, I think this blog has run its course: this is the end, the last page. In many ways, this blog has functioned very much like an album – a visual and public record of the highlights of the past couple of years. But like all albums (at least the old-fashioned kind), there is also a last page to mark the end of one season and the beginning of another,. So here’s to other adventures –. September 9, 2013.
