Life On Cloud Eight: Stocking Stuffers

http://lifeoncloudeight.blogspot.com/2009/01/stocking-stuffers.html

Life On Cloud Eight. Friday, January 2, 2009. Several weeks before Christmas a friend told me that their family did not hang stockings. I told her that we couldn't be friends anymore unless she put it into practice right now, this year! It is the BEST part of Christmas, after all! She did it, too! Because she didn't want to lose me as a friend.). Or maybe she just loves her kids a lot and wanted to surprise them.). Anyway, here's a few things that were in our kids' socks:. Um, this boy? I especially woul...

Life On Cloud Eight: February 2009

http://lifeoncloudeight.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Life On Cloud Eight. Saturday, February 7, 2009. Happy Chinese/Vietnamese New Year! Lunar New Year celebrations began in Asia Jan. 25 and are still going on! Here in Small Town Midwest it's hard to find anyone celebrating. This occasion. Hence, the blank stare I received when I bounded into PF Changs. And sang, "Happy New Year! Well, that's okay. We just made our own party with all kinds of hootin. Didn't bother me a bit that they sat us smack dab in the. Restaurant with our boisterous brood. In case you...

Life On Cloud Eight: Gotcha Calebration!

http://lifeoncloudeight.blogspot.com/2009/03/gotcha-calebration.html

Life On Cloud Eight. Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Chloe thought of the cute title. How creative! Was all about Caleb as we celebrated the first anniversary of his adoption last week, also known in adoption circles as "Gotcha Day.". We made the obvious choice of going out to the Vietnamese restaurant here in town for our little party. What's that you say? Doesn't look like a Vietnamese restaurant to you? Well, then let me show you a couple of photos of us in Vietnam last year on Easter Sunday. I still haven...

Life On Cloud Eight: Happy Birthday, Hapy Birthday and Happy Birthday Again!

http://lifeoncloudeight.blogspot.com/2008/12/happy-birthday-hapy-birthday-and-happy.html

Life On Cloud Eight. Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Happy Birthday, Hapy Birthday and Happy Birthday Again! Apparently, my mother, my sister and I didn’t think that there was enough fun and merriment in the month of December. So, to pick things up a bit, we all had Christmas babies. I’m not just talking about December Birthdays. I mean CHRISTMAS BABIES! And try as we might to convince them otherwise, it really does kind of stink to have a Christmas birthday. Alas, I do not. I’d just like to mention th...

Sports Mom: December 2008

http://shipmanteam.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, December 28, 2008. Well another Christmas has come and gone already! Stan was put on everything opposite this past week and with the weather and everything that was crazy, he was frustrated by the end of the week! I kept telling him as we would talk on the phone while he was gone that we needed to be thankful he has a job right now and to try and think of the positive! That was one I'll never forget! Grandpa Shipman watching the boys play air hockey. BOY was she HAPPY! It is really nice and warm.

Saturday, November 22, 2008. Arsenic and Old Lace. Tyler joined the Drama Club this year (which really cracked me up when he told me), and this weekend was their first production. Tyler played the part of Teddy in this play and it was HILARIOUS! The cast did such a great job and had us laughing both nights. When the first scene opens Tyler is standing with his back to the us and when he turned around I seen him with the mustache I thought I was going to die laughing! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, May 26, 2008. Here is the MUD Hens Crew! Don't they just look EXCITED! All our kids plus Tyler's girlfriend Kelly. Taylor and Kelly were SO EXCITED to be at the game! Not sure where he came from, but he was with us! LOL Holger the GANGSTA! The Mud Hens lost, but as most people know me I NEVER know the score, just who wins and who doesn't! LOL I'm terrible about stuff like that! Even at my own kids games, I never know what the score is. The kids swam all weekend! Trevor slam dunking the basketball!

Sports Mom: Decorating the Tree

http://shipmanteam.blogspot.com/2008/12/decorating-tree.html

Sunday, December 7, 2008. We spent today doing some baking, decorating, and then lastly we put the tree up. The kids pretty much do all the decorating of the tree, Stan and I just sit and watch. Obviously I am not picky about how my tree looks. I figure that I will have many years to do it my way when they are out of the house. Yes they really do love each other! HOT CHOCOLATE with Hershey chocolate mint candy canes. Taylor had more flour on herself than under the cookies. View my complete profile.

Sports Mom: February 2009

http://shipmanteam.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 4, 2009. Tyler attended his first Homecoming Dance a few weeks ago. Kelly is only in the 8th grade so she could not attend with him. He said he had an okay time, but they didn't have any food there! A TEENAGE BOY WITH NO FOOD? They are like babies, eat every 2 hours! HA HA My cousin Ashlyn was the sophomore attendant, so we got a pic of her and Tyler together. Also, our friends little girl and one that I use to babysit for was the flower girl. Everyone looked so great! They had fun pl...

http://shipmanteam.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 15, 2009. Well it's been a few weeks since I last blogged. We've been just hanging out at home lately. With all the snow and cold weather I just want to stay home at night. Stan is still making his drive to WI every weeknight and lately, he has been running out of hours, due to traffic backed up. We have been so thankful though that God has kept him safe so far! Kelly ended up with I think four stitches right in the center of her forehead. It ended up getting infected even after tre...

http://shipmanteam.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 14, 2008. With Stan being gone more and with all the kids being involved in a sport it's very hectic. It seems like there is never any down time, until today! I spent the afternoon lounging around doing NOTHING! Thank you God for a day of rest! It never fails though something ends up coming up and we don't get to rest very long, but not today! We took FULL advantage of the rainy day! Trevor's first day of school. Taylor's first day of school, she is holding Jordan and little baby I watch.

Wednesday, July 30, 2008. The VanArsdalen family and our family packed up and headed for the beach Sunday. IT WAS AWESOME! The waves were GREAT and it was quite a workout hitting them! I could so be a beach bum! The boys would sit on the edge of the water and just let the waves hit them. They had sand EVERY WHERE! Eleana LOVED the water and beach too! The boys trying to play football on the hot sand! That sand gets SO hot! I mean it was almost in our spots! NO NOT BABES just bums! Monday, July 14, 2008.

Life on Circle Avenue

Yes, we are still alive! I would love to have more time to devote to the old blog but at this point in time, most of my time has now been spent homeschooling my older girls while hanging out with our toddler! If you would like to follow me at my homeschooling blog, here is the address: www.thelittlebrickschoolhouse.wordpress.com. It has been an adventure this year but a lot of fun and a lot of blood, sweat and tears at the same time (well, maybe not blood.). Sheesh. Where does the time go? And now we can...

Life on Clark Street. A sneak peek from Clark Street Photography www.clarkstreetphotos.com. Friday, August 2, 2013. Just two pics this time. There are more, and so much to say about the amazing Lausters. But I'm struck today by the contrasts in parenting and our kids growing up. I recently read, as I'm sure most of you did, Julianna Miner's Huffington Post article on the Sweet Spot. Thursday, April 14, 2011. It's been a long cold winter. And since I shoot outside in natural light there hasn't been mu...

The 41st Year

Saturday, March 31, 2018. The 42nd Year is Underway. Easter is about hope.". That’s what the Australian-accented, boomerang-slinging bunny in Rise of the Guardians says about his holiday. Easter is about possibility. Redemption. Renewal. It’s rather fitting that the end of The 41. Year is Easter week. It’s fitting because when I set out to do this last year, I was really looking for renewal. Forty couldn’t fuck with me if I knew what I was doing. If I had a plan. A purpose. A mission. So here they are:.

Why Does Your Website Refer To Itself? Your Website is Very Narcissistic. Earlier today, for various reasons, I found myself faced with several fairly common questions in Web Analytics; “Why does my traffic referrers report list my own website? How can I refer traffic to myself? Did I just discover some sort of paradoxical time anomaly which I can exploit to create great riches? Um, maybe not so much the last part.
