Or at least, I’m worried that’s how we must come across to the rest of the world. When asked ‘How’s the PhD going? 8217; there are a few standard responses:. 8216;I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be doing’ (during first 12 months). 8216;stuck out in the field/lab’. 8216;chained to a computer running analysis/data/entry’.
