This is Life with Loki. One family. One big, black dog. Endless adventures. Happy Fourth of July. July 4, 2010. Loki shows his colors on the Fourth. Loki wore a pair of flags for our morning stroll into the village. He looked quite patriotic as we set out. I went ahead and put my flags out in the yard — some small ones along the street and the bigger one from the post of our porch. Then I locked the door and swore I wasn’t setting foot outside again until fireworks time. Ah, the joys of summer in Ohio.

First, he caught a mouse. Or maybe it was a mole; I didn’t get a good look. We were walking down the street and suddenly, he had a critter in his mouth. I shrieked, which startled Loki just enough that the critter was able to slip away. It hasn’t been an issue lately, though. Where have the days gone? It’s like this.
