https://oneenduranceeventatatime.wordpress.com/2015/04/27/marathon-des-sables-top-tips-sort-of
Trials and tribulatuons of being an amateur athlete. One endurance event at a time! Marathon des Sables – top tips (sort of)! There’s so much mystery and (forgive me) b* * * t spouted about MdS that I thought I’d share a few top tips/ do and don’ts if you will. Be aware dear reader some of these may be a tad “tongue in cheek”! Make a decision to finish the race and commit. I bitched and moaned on countless occasions that it wasn’t enough! It’s only 2 and has loads of useful info. Plan your food – a...

Fell running and trail running. Tuesday, 3 May 2011. Highland Fling - 30th April. List is the full WHW race in June). There is a staggered start and by the time I arrived at 8am for the Senior Male/Elite start, some had been going for a full 2hours already. We arrived far too early and with no queues, I was registered (i.e I had picked up my timing chip from a particularly chipper lady on the desk! 8221; – brilliant! The view over Loch Lomond from Conic Hill. Approaching the finish in Tyndrum. Great read...

MDS 2010 Training log: June 2009
http://mds2010traininglog.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
MDS 2010 Training log. Training for the Marathon Des Sables 2010. I finally finished, to my great relief, in 6 hrs 23 mins. I was 80th out of about 120 starters many of whom dropped out at the half-way point. I'm planning to have another attempt at the Picnic when it's run again in 2011 - hopefully I'll be able knock a few minutes off my time (maybe even get under 6 hours) and next time I'll be carrying some electrolyt drink with me which should help with the cramp problems. Tapering for the Picnic.

http://www.justajog.com/2013/02/marathon-des-sables-footcare.html
To run is fun. To blog about the jog is even better. Wednesday, 27 February 2013. Marathon des Sables: footcare. Yes you probably will get blisters. But don't panic too much as there is plenty you can do to prevent blisters becoming mincemeat. Here's a past post on prevention and cure for blisters. To help allay your fears. If you prep your feet (see my past post. On how best to do this) and look after them while out there, you really shouldn't suffer too much from blisters. However, you may end up b...

Just a Jog: Best running routes in London
http://www.justajog.com/2012/07/best-running-routes-in-london.html
To run is fun. To blog about the jog is even better. Tuesday, 17 July 2012. Best running routes in London. Recently about my lack of enthusiasm for running in the city of London. However this hasn't always been the case. There are some amazing places to go running in and around London. I got to know London by running in it, and I still believe it's the best way to really understand the size and diversity of our capital. 1) Best for the views (and the hills) (and getting lost) - Hampstead Heath. On one si...
