Sunday, November 6, 2011. We just got back from visiting family in rural Virginia, where the scenery is amazing. One of my favorite things to do there is to just drive around the countryside, taking photos of old buildings, barns, and of course the beautiful Shenandoah mountains. Since my photography skills are somewhat lacking, I like to tweak the images I take in Photoshop, removing phone poles, signs, and cars, then I add painterly effects digitally. Sunday, March 4, 2012. I got to spend this evening working on this image. I like the brighter colors. These dolls are made of polymer clay, encaustic wax, and fabric. One is of Roxie, Lisa's very special Jack Russell Terrier, and Angel, my friend Denise's youngest cat. For both portraits, I used a third party plugin for Photoshop called Snap Art that lets you turn portraits and other things into paintings.
