Nina Earley: layers and projection
http://ninaearley.blogspot.com/2013/12/layers-and-projection.html
Art Institute of Boston - MFA. Sunday, December 15, 2013. Experimenting with some hanging options (makeshift, since the actual space at the residency will be different) and projecting the new video onto and through the layers. The idea is that in a real installation the panels will be overlapping, but also leaving space to walk through, and the projection will be seen on some panels and not on others. 1 silk organza grid with sewn line over footsteps print. 2 cotton sewn line with grid, backlit. Nina Earley: August 2013
http://ninaearley.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Art Institute of Boston - MFA. Friday, August 23, 2013. Along with having my first mentor meeting of the semester this week I got to have a look at the James Turrell exhibit at the Guggenheim. Despite large crowds I really enjoyed having some time to take in the light and color in his work. I especially enjoyed the way his prints are displayed to make them look like light installations also. Images from: http:/ www.girvin.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/james-turrell 13.jpg. Art Institute of Boston - MFA. Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Tuesday, May 28, 2013. The opening reception will be on Friday, July 26th and the exhibit will be up through the end of August. While these maps already feel kind of old (being from last semester), I am still very excited to be showing them. Now to solve the problem of framing and transporting such large pieces. Here are two tes...
