The Weeded Librarian: Women in Libraries Revisited
http://theweededlibrarian.blogspot.com/2013/11/women-in-libraries-revisited.html
Thursday, 28 November 2013. Women in Libraries Revisited. I'm not really sure why I didn't get more involved - it was clearly my area of interest. I was probably a much less assertive person in those days, but it does make me sad. A search for "Women in Libraries" brings up as its first hit the ALA's Feminist Task Force. Which seems to be still active. This image of a librarian selecting books is produced by the US government so public domain. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Weeded Librarian: July 2011
http://theweededlibrarian.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, 14 July 2011. Reflections, reflections, reflections. This week's thing is reflective practice. The cpd23 blog has some very useful references on reflective practice and we also used a reflective practice model in my CTLLS course. One of the things about writing reflectively is that it requires a fair amount of self-disclosure. Not necessarily personal I guess, but certainly professional. Thursday, 7 July 2011. Twitter and more thoughts on branding. Twitter is yet another place where you're advi...

The Weeded Librarian: About me
http://theweededlibrarian.blogspot.com/p/about-me.html
I'm a currently unemployed librarian. I was made redundant at the end of May 2011 from a post in the NHS following a departmental reorganisation. I'm hoping to get back into employmant as soon as possible, but as we all know it's a hard market out there. My experience is in HE and Healtcare, I've worked across a range of different posts. The Weeded Librarian: May 2011
http://theweededlibrarian.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 31 May 2011. Redundant Stock - Me. So, I was made redundant today, and I've decided to start a blog to chart my progress (or lack of it). I've never been good at keeping a diary, so I'll see how this goes. Having said that, I have an interview tomorrow for a temporary contract with a 3rd sector organisation, so that's not exactly publicly funded. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Weeded Librarian: Bit of an Ooops moment!!!
http://theweededlibrarian.blogspot.com/2013/10/bit-of-ooops-moment.html
Tuesday, 22 October 2013. Bit of an Ooops moment! Well, some of my tweaks resulted in the 19Things email going out a bit late this week. I was changing the time at which the emails go out and managed to miss the two hour window. I had to revert the posts to draft and re-publish them. Looks like they've gone out now though! The Weeded Librarian: November 2011
http://theweededlibrarian.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Monday, 28 November 2011. Thing 18 is about incorporating podcasts and screen capture into our practice. It's appearing out of order because I was hoping to get some actual podcasting done before I published. Having said that I did come across the fantastic “Codemonkey” song on a podcast. Summer learning journey, winter reflective practice. I think my development needs are clustered around social skills, self-marketing and assertiveness. This probably accounts for my lack of management experience, as...
