How You Can Help. Encourage someone who may need help to call Literacy Volunteers. Help is always free. Sign up for a professional tutor training workshop in Basic Adult Literacy and/or English as a Second Language. Be a student group leader for conversational English, student activities, or telephone pairs. Join in fundraising activities: Scrabble Tournament, Conesus Lakes Arts and Crafts Festival, Geneseo Days, and other events. Create or maintain a quarterly newsletter. Help in the office.

Two great programs,. Literacy Volunteers of Livingston County (LVLC) offers two learning tracks with the single goal of increased student literacy. Adult Basic Literacy (BL) and English Language Learners (ELL). Classes are currently held weekly in both Mt. Morris and Dansville with no charge to the student! Classroom learning reinforces individual tutoring (and often helps students while they are waiting to be matched with a tutor). ELL Class - Dansville. Tuesdays from 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm.
