In Search Of Modern Architecture and Design. Thursday, November 15, 2007. Palm Springs Forever Modern and "Eichleresque" Palo Alto . The old house we were supposed to finally remodel this year we took a consolation trip to Palm Springs. On our way to the Indian Canyons. We stumble upon a modern development that looked quite interesting :-) That was ALTA. And while I understand the expensive part I really don't get the bad design with the wrong Eichler label. Steel homes. These is the Murano. Palm Springs...

Modern in NE Minneapolis. Downing / Perrault Residence. Monday, June 30, 2008. Today was crazy at the job site.the framers will finishing up, plumbers were bringing the lines thru. I met our contractor there to discuss some details that needed addressing. We ended up leaving the vault in the master bathroom instead of having it framed with a flat ceiling. Hopefully it will make it seem larger. Tomorrow we are meeting with Joe, our electrician, to do a run through for lighting. We just found out this ...

Tuesday, January 8, 2008. Between drawing, design and the take your pants off kind of living you do day to day. Where do we put our clothing? Where do we put the vacuum? Where should the bar of soap sleep it off? Why does the beautiful rainshower head function more like a misty morning? In stereo.with time lapse. I was checking out hinoki products. After spying a stool I loved on VivaTerra. Soap tray for our shower. d-line. Did you treat them in any way? February 20, 2008 at 5:21 PM. I am getting quite a...

Saturday, December 30, 2006. Why am I so obsessed with finding a pair of. I want them. I need them. They're keeping me up at night. Designed in the 50's by Edward Wormley and manufactured in mahogany by Dunbar, these simple and elegant benches already have a home waiting in my living room. The examples above are priced at $7900 on 1stdibs.com. I'd have to recover them with a richer fabric, however. My baby dachshunds need comfort. View my complete profile. Modern and Design Links. Here's a great question - what the hell happened to Wal-Mart? I'm not saying that it's my new favorite place to shop, but when I can't really sit in a car for 6 hours to hit my closest Ikea, I'm starting to find that Wal-Mart online is a resource for affordable modern design furniture. One coat of chalkboard paint or chalkboard contact paper will give her storage she can label herself. I'm not saying that all of my shopping will be at Wal-Mart from now on, (God no! Let's make it ours, baby! For a few pic...

Monday, March 3, 2008. Has disrupted my life for a good 2 1/2 weeks.but I see traffic has really picked up around here, thank you for the nods on the design blogs mocoloco, materialicious, and others thank you-thank you! Anyhow, the company we've hired to install the system guesses the current levels in the basement, where the radon seeps into the house, are in the 20s, not an ideal place to send the kids on a winter's afternoon to ride their bikes I suppose. Where's a cop when you need one? This happened about a week ago:. Rob and I were on our way to Best Buy to pick up Flash Gordon so Rob can re-live his childhood years. The light turns green and I head on out. Someone from the intersection on the right, decides to make the turn regardless of my having the right of way and completely ignoring the fact that he was cutting me off. I honk at him and make an ugly face and complain loudly with generous profanity to Rob.then I look in my review. This is a foot.

Monday, October 02, 2006. Here's what we've been all about these past few weeks:. Immediately after we closed on the house we started looking for a landscape architect. We could've hired the houses' architecture firm but we wanted someone who really understands plants and soil. I've kept this under wraps because I suppose I'm a bit superstitious. We don't need any bad design karma, thank you very much. Not working for them at all. The dogs are really driving this entire project. Our wall will be connecte...
