The Writing Desk: Week Four
http://lenalothanas.blogspot.com/2011/11/week-four.html
Friday, 25 November 2011. My posts are getting later each week. I blame NaNo and the moving chaos! This week I have good news and bad news. The good news is, I reached 50k in the weekend and finished my novel at 52k on Sunday! Today I should be able to let the illiterate NaNo robots count my words and get my winner's certificate. Since I was feeling a little deflated and there were still ten days of November left, I started writing something else. It's not going to be a novel, though. Just a litt...I hop...

There's room for every kind of thought. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Mixed Bag: Books and links. August 20, 2012. It’s been a while since I chronicled my reads here at The Literary Shack. And the itch to update you all on my progress has finally turned into an urge to put my fingers on the keyboard. Talking about typing reminds of this beautiful post I read recently on Londoner’s Musings on The Delight of Handwriting. The first one to get whim-picked was Vintage Stuff. Hastily on m...

Writing, reading, laughing all the time. WORDS ARE, IN MY NOT-SO-HUMBLE OPINION, OUR MOST INEXHAUSTIBLE SOURCE OF MAGIC. CAPABLE OF BOTH INFLICTING INJURY, AND REMEDYING IT." ALBUS DUMBLEDORE. Monday, July 16, 2012. THE ARCHIVED by Victoria Schwab (ARC Giveaway). Each body has a story to tell, a life seen in pictures that only Librarians can read. The dead are called Histories, and the vast realm in which they rest is the Archive. Let me just start by saying, I loved Victoria's first YA, The Near Witch.
The Writing Desk: Week Two
http://lenalothanas.blogspot.com/2011/11/week-two.html
Tuesday, 8 November 2011. I hope your novels are going well! Thanks to everyone who left a comment on my last post and a big sorry that I haven't been reciprocating! My first week of NaNo was a bit crazy, with lots of stuff to do and a family visit over the weekend. Also, I am a bad, bad blogger. And a worse social networker. There's magic, too. And pranks. So, keep writing everyone and don't get sick! Because it's not helpful. But you knew that. Labels: Birth of a Novel blog chain. LOL, this sounds like...
The Writing Desk: Week Three
http://lenalothanas.blogspot.com/2011/11/week-three.html
Friday, 18 November 2011. I realize I am really late on the blog chain this week. There were so many other things to do this week that I had to reserve what little time I had left for my writing. The happy result of that is, though, that I am now 45k into my novel! 50k is near, but my guess is that the story will perhaps need another 10k after that. I had a moment this last week when I suddenly realized I hadn't actually figured out the climax of the story yet. (It was a moment of panic.). Good luck with...

Wednesday, June 13, 2012. The Kindness in Forgiveness. It's not always easy. In fact, sometimes it's beyond difficult. It's kind to two people. The person you're forgiving. People can be assholes. People can do shitty things. But so can I. And so can you. People make mistakes; people grow; people change. Sometimes ...

Bucks County Writers' Group. The Scout's Guide to Literary Rejection. Wednesday, May 30, 2012. May's Bunch O' Links. And how was your May? I've heard of Save The Cat. A lot, but haven't picked it up yet. Maybe it's because that writing book is associated with screenwriting? I don't know. But Liz at. Has a good post on Plotting for Pantsers (that's me) and how it measures up to Save the Cat. She's also the author of Coveted, which sounds amazing and I can't wait to get my hands on it. Monday, May 21, 2012.

Adventures In Writing: The Kindness Project
http://isabellamorgan.blogspot.com/2012/07/kindness-project.html
Wednesday, 11 July 2012. I'm excited to have been asked to join The Kindness Project! What is The Kindness Project? Too often kindness is relegated to a random act performed only when we’re feeling good. But an even greater kindness (to ourselves and others) occurs when we reach out even whe. Grab our button and spread a little kindness. When the awesome Lola Sharp. Asked me to join The Kindness Project, naturally I said yes. Then I started to panic. Why? And I found this quote:. Wednesday, July 11, 2012.
