We visited Quedgeley local nature reserve to carry out path maintenance. There were 4 of us involved in levelling, as far as possible, the main path into reserve and then laying chippings on the surface. Gloucester Vale Conservation Volunteers. Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal Trust. Quedgeley Local Nature Reserve(LNR). GVCV were the first body to volunteer to help the Trust also improve the surrounding grounds. These are not extensive, just two or three acres, and are largely grassed or wasteland. Our tasks have been to clear vegetation in and around the ruins, to cut back scrub and brambles and to open up views of the pond. Huddinknoll Hill NNR - scrub clearance. Quedgeley LNR May 15th 2016.

The Llanthony Valley and District Show was first held in 1962. It is one of the only shows of its kind, still completely organized by local volunteers, with no major corporate sponsorship involved.
