So far 162 residents have registered support from 94 households in the immediate area. Preston City Council Planning Department reference for the Redrow proposed development is 06/ 2012/ 0822. The planning application was discussed and rejected by the planning committee on Monday 8th April. LCC Highways submission objects to the application due to the existing network limitations,. What can we do. The steering group will be organising a series of social events over the coming months to raise money and to raise the profile of our association. Our first event was a ‘Country and Irish’ evening performed by one of our residents, at the Wheatsheaf pub on Saturday 26 January 2013 at 8.00pm. We will be advertising future events on our website and in our newsletters. If you have any fundraising ideas or can offer support in any way please contact us. No events currently planned.

I live outside Lightfoot Lane area, so this Redrow development won't affect me. Yes, it will affect everyone commuting from north of Preston using Eastway to get onto the M6/ M55 motorway at Broughton. 330 houses is not a big development, what is the fuss? The outline application is for 330 houses now. The potential is for 1400 houses. What other developments in the area might affect me? Can the existing road infrastructure cope with these additional houses? What will the effect be on traffic volumes?
