After years of reading and commenting, I want to share some of my thoughts about Jewish life and law. Saturday, July 14, 2012. You may have a point- someone as zealous as Pinchas might think twice about repeating his murderous action, knowing that the act would disqualify him from functioning as a priest. Eclectic Jewish Thoughts: August 2011
http://llennhoff.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
After years of reading and commenting, I want to share some of my thoughts about Jewish life and law. Monday, August 01, 2011. Pluralism and its limits in early Judaism. This past weekend was the Synagogue Council of Massachusetts. The teacher's view, which I have previously seen ascribed to Judith Hauptman (Masoret Magazine v7n3), is that this meant that Beit Hillel and Beit Shammai each accepted the other's definition. Thus if my daughter is acceptable for marriage according to Beit Hillel, a man f...

Is this a Bad Idea?: cons_judaism
http://cons-judaism.livejournal.com/30876.html
Is this a Bad Idea? Recognizing the Halachic validity of egalitarianism and not wanting it any other way, but also acknowledging the fact that men (and women) sometimes want and need their own spiritual (prayer) space, is it an entirely Bad Idea to set up parallel mechitzah-minyanim (but egalitarian) in larger Conservative synagogues? Their roles would rotate: one week, the women would lead, the other week, the men would lead. Post a new comment. We will log you in after post. Your reply will be screened.
