Church Street (the corner of Church and Windsor) is open to accept donations and serve only agency referred clients from 10 am until noon Monday – Thursday and Saturday. Loaves and Fishes of Union County is grateful to Union County Department of Social Services and Episcopal Diocese of Charlotte for the initial seed grants and the housing arrangement at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church 30 years ago. The pantry space and involvement of key members of St. Paul’s congregation provided continuity and kept administrative costs low allowing more funds to be spent for the purposes of the organization. During the last few months many people in Union County didn’t get their food stamps due to problems in the new state-wide computer system. This has put a tremendous load on our local Loaves and Fishes of Union County’s. Resources. The additional referrals DSS needs to refer to Loaves and Fishes of Union County.
