Growing roots in the suburbs of Houston. Archive for May, 2011. Posted by Lynette in Home and Garden. We love our patio so much that we decided to extend it by constructing our very own garden path between the beds on the side of our yard – between the house and privacy fence. Here’s the before picture. And here it is once we got rid of the grass and weeds. All I can say is it was hot out there! I’ll post a picture of the finished project soon! A bloom for Memorial Day. Growing roots in the suburbs of Houston. Archive for April, 2011. Somewhere over the Rainbow. Posted by Lynette in Home and Garden. While I was arranging this bookshelf, I spotted the Cardinal. Yes, the Cardinal that pecks on our windows all day if we don’t have birdseed for him! The previous owner had warned us about him before we moved in, but we didn’t realize how serious he was until we heard it for ourselves. I think he’s taken ownership of the house. Isn’t she beautiful? My life in six words. Fate ...

It’s not a five star restaurant or anything, but Sonic is gnarly dude. Sonic, by far, has the best ice around. I mean, it’s awesome to the max. Ok, back to Sonic. What about the styrofoam cup! Between that and the ice it’s totally tubular. Did you know the first Sonic opened in 1953. And that the original name was Top Hat. And that in 1987. Sorry I feel old now…. Driving ...

Growing roots in the suburbs of Houston. Laquo; The Greatest Fans on Earth. My Favorite Lotions in the World. Posted June 23, 2011 by Lynette in Home and Garden. I have a confession to make. My hands are so dry since I’ve gotten older! I mean, I used to put on lotion for the fragrance, but nowadays and especially when I’m in desperation mode, it’s a must to lather it on the top portion of my hands. And I do this several times a day or more, especially during the winter. 1 For dryness – Nivea Creme. Click...

Growing roots in the suburbs of Houston. I just need twelve more hours! Posted by Lynette in Six Words. Ernest Hemingway was challenged by a man in a bar that he couldn’t come up with a short story using only six words. He responded with: “For sale, baby shoes, never used.”. Hats off to Hemingway for winning his bet in a bar. I am a night owl from Hades. If only there were twelve more hours to sleep at night…. I can dream, can’t I? Want to play along? And, here’s. Where I found it. 1 tsp olive oil. Clean...
