Barbara's Blog

Monday, April 7, 2008. I never liked taking spelling tests in school, so this chapter was very fascinating. I think learning about the different stages of spelling development are interesting. Students do learn to spell little by little. They must strengthen one skill or level before they can strengthen the next. All the while, they have no idea how much they are really learning. Have you seen any effecting methods to teach spelling used in your Tuesday Experience? Monday, March 31, 2008. Has the student...

Barbara's Blog: Poetry

http://www.luckyduckliteracy.blogspot.com/2008/03/poetry.html

Monday, March 31, 2008. I always hated poetry! When a teacher said "poetry unit," it meant "Barbara is going to get a very poor grade." I do not remember learning anything about poetry until late middle school, at which point I was told my poems were not creative enough. How can someone else judge my creativity? Has the student experimented with the poetic form presented in the minilesson? Has the student used the process approach in writing, revising, and editing the poem? March 31, 2008 at 9:42 PM.

If so, what are the students' reactions to the idea? How would you use this idea in your furture classroom? March 27, 2008 at 1:10 PM. This is very interesting. What a great find Barbara. No, I have never heard or seen anything like this. Do you think that you will use this in your future classroom? CT, United States.

Barbara's Blog: Lions, and Tigers, and Bears...

http://www.luckyduckliteracy.blogspot.com/2008/03/lions-and-tigers-and-bears.html

Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Lions, and Tigers, and Bears. Ok, so I didn't see lions and tigers, but I did see bears this weekend! I started my break by visiting the National Zoo in Washington D.C. It was an amazing experience! There was so much to see and do! I just wish I had more time to spend at the zoo. When I think of the zoo, the first thing I think of is animals, never the written word. There was writing everywhere! March 26, 2008 at 10:13 AM. Museums and zoo's are really wonderful places for student...

Alicia's circle: Journal Writing

http://aliciascircle.blogspot.com/2008/02/journal-writing.html

Thursday, February 28, 2008. Teachers can evaluate journals by giving students one point for every entry made. Teachers want to remember that someof students writing may be personal and can be indicated by students writing read me at the top of an entry or by writing private. Teachers can incoperate this into their instructional programs by allowing students to write to an author that they have read about or to allow students to write business letters to ask questions to further their understanding.

Wednesday, February 27, 2008. What Can a Blog Be Used For? February 27, 2008 at 3:11 PM. I am glad that you have been able to see a smart board in action! Maybe you will have to teach me how to use one because I do not have one in my classroom at whiting lane. I am sure by the time we are teachers there will be one in every classroom! Fortunately, I love technology and I love learning how new things work. March 2, 2008 at 7:20 PM. March 5, 2008 at 11:12 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

March 5, 2008 at 1:15 PM. Unlike you, I do not really remember writing much in elementary school, probably because I never understood why we had to do it. I really only remember writing some fictional stories and I remember having to keep a journal one year. I absolutely hated the journal! March 9, 2008 at 6:53 PM.

Lucky Duck Restaurant - great ingredients prepared creatively - Silver Lake / Los Angeles

At this time, we have made the very difficult decision to close Lucky Duck on December 14th. Our team worked long and incredibly hard to make the restaurant work, but we have come to the conclusion that the concept, unfortunately, is not what the neighborhood wants. We are humbled by the support those in the community have shown, and by the dedication our team put into building Lucky Duck. BREAD our cultured butter, maldon salt 4. Crispy herbs, aioli 6. Wednesday, 17 August 2011. Having lived in the Middle East for 20 years I have a love for Middle -Eastern food. Most people think of the food of that area as purely Lebanese food like koubi, tabouli, shawerma, stuffed vine-leaves, kousa but there are variations in every country of the region. Anyway here is my finished dish. Here's the recipe if you want to make it yourself. Fry 1 chopped large onion til slightly browned. Add 1 chopped large tomato, cook for 2 minutes. Add 1/2 bag of mulokia leav...I hav...
