View my complete profile. Wednesday, February 25, 2009. The subject matter was excellent. We saw these people, all young adults with different background and personalities, different families and friends. Just knowing that these people are not just being painted, but they are real people in the world. This brought a connection between the people in the paintings and myself. I could see some of them as my friends in real life. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

AMA: The Beginning: Melba Price: Rapture
http://morri471.blogspot.com/2009/02/melba-price-rapture.html
A collection of thoughts and art criticisms from my present art student perspective. Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Upon entering the Midway Contemporary Art. The figure's nude shoulders, pale complexion, and appearance of laying flat on something cold and grey give this grave impression. Suddenly I experienced an overwhelming sense of despondency and I was hit with the revelation that nothing really matters. These young people have all been captured in this one moment, but they have gone on to their lives.

A collection of thoughts and art criticisms from my present art student perspective. Friday, February 27, 2009. A Note on RAPTURE. I realize now that I didn't take the name of the exhibition into account when I was writing about it. When I finally did consider the name. I realized I didn't have a clear definition. It is certainly worth looking up. Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Upon entering the Midway Contemporary Art. I will never know them; they will never know each other. The semi-transparency of the ...

View my complete profile. Tuesday, February 3, 2009. February 4, 2009 at 6:19 PM. Good choice. As we discussed in class, Warhol is often cited as on of the first postmodernists. Obviously the appropriation of a pre-existing photograph is contrary to modernist notions of originality, and he takes that ever further by reproducing the image again and again - which ends up working almost as a commentary on the depersonalization of celebrity culture. View my complete profile. Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Robert Rauschenberg: Artist Book. So, this is a work by Robert Rauschenberg that is at the walker and some of you may have seen it also. I decided to talk about this piece for two reasons, the first being that it might be familiar to some of you if you can remember from the visit to the Walker and second, because I feel that this work really represents what Rauschenberg does. Do you guys have any ideas for me on my artist book? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

View my complete profile. Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Ok so I was not fascinated by the Walker whatsoever. I liked some of the paintings but nothing else really caught my eye. I found that the overall setting and feel of the museum was not comfortable to me. Image: ( http:/ images.google.com/imgres? So I'm having trouble figuring out how to link a site so here is the address to the walker blog:. Http:/ blogs.walkerart.org/design/2008/12/17/textmessages-books-by-artists/#comment-537. View my complete profile. Sunday, February 8, 2009. After visiting the Minneapolis Institute of Art. I chose two works that I found to be very interesting if they were put together. The first piece is "estate" by Robert Rauschenberg. I was very attracted. To his artwork and the way he put everything together. He used many different images to create a collage like feel. My second piece was a photograph. Of Marylin Monroe by Richard Avedon. Http:/ images.google.com/imgres? Imgurl=http:/ modamilanesa.fi...
