balearic blue: flower power
http://balearic-blue.blogspot.com/2010/08/flower-power.html
An informal chronical of our journey to the sun and a new life in Mallorca! Friday, 20 August 2010. Its 8 minutes past midnight. A group of rowdy youths have parked and made a party right outside our house. The music is thumping, the alcohol is flowing and the party is just beginning. This is Spain for Gods sake, don't complain about noise. I wonder about him next door, I wonder if someone will piss against his car or scribble ‘pagor’ (prostitute) on his door with ink pen? balearic blue: Happy Birthday Madiba!

An informal chronical of our journey to the sun and a new life in Mallorca! Monday, 18 July 2011. Today is the 93rd birthday of the remarkable and prolific Nelson Mandela. Although he is now a frail shadow of his former self physically, his phenomenal impact on the history of humanity, is something that he is still the champion of the world of, regardless. Its not everyday you are born into an era to witness change, to feel justice, and to live history as it is evolving before your eyes. Ive never been a...

balearic blue: March 2013
http://balearic-blue.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
An informal chronical of our journey to the sun and a new life in Mallorca! Friday, 1 March 2013. Well, its been almost four months into our new adventure. Moving home has been the most difficult and emotionally draining of them all. Although we are surrounded by exquisite beauty and a rich cultural mixture, family and friends, we still long for that tiny village on that mountain that is stained in our hearts. When little boys in Alaro grow up, they want to become Demoni's. They start as young as fiv...

balearic blue: April 2012
http://balearic-blue.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
An informal chronical of our journey to the sun and a new life in Mallorca! Saturday, 14 April 2012. After the last whirlwind six months, I guess I should be last person that is surprised when life throws us yet another curve ball. In our quest to find our ideal life, in an ideal house, in an ideal place we have embarked on a journey that has opened up our eyes to a new world, but also made us realise more importantly that at the end of the day, none of that stuff truly matters. I will never regret the d...

An informal chronical of our journey to the sun and a new life in Mallorca! Saturday, 24 December 2011. Bon Nadal and Feliz Navidad! Reading this you might think? This morning, we went back to Alaro to the market, something we took for granted and shuffled up almost every Saturday for a quick shop around the fresh fruit and veg stalls, and of course the obligitory Saturday morning coffee with friends. I missed them, for they are what made it special. Every year, she hauls out a magnificent speciman of a ...

balearic blue: October 2012
http://balearic-blue.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
An informal chronical of our journey to the sun and a new life in Mallorca! Tuesday, 2 October 2012. How do you say goodbye? Last night I had my first cry. After sitting up until 1-30am in the now chilly morning, I could not get to sleep. My mind would not allow me to bury the emotional aspect for any longer. After completing the first chapter of my second book , I found no rest. I pictured myself alone again, packing the three children in the Alaro taxi in the crisp early morning before the village awoke.

balearic blue: Queen of Halloween
http://balearic-blue.blogspot.com/2010/11/queen-of-halloween.html
An informal chronical of our journey to the sun and a new life in Mallorca! Thursday, 4 November 2010. What started out as a nightmare of a day, ended in spectacular splendour, as Zoe played host to my. Planned Halloween party. I think God may be lending me a little hand in this department, as I realised when I stepped into her doorway, that I was clearly out of my depth, in entertaining the idea of having a party and inviting the accomplished Alaro wives!
