2016: Cure Organic Farm – Growing with Intention

https://lyndsymikaela.wordpress.com/2016-overview/2016-cure-organic-farm

2016: Cure Organic Farm. The second farm I will be getting produce from is Cure Organic Farm. They’ve got a great reputation and sell a bunch of extras at their farm store and you can add on various shares to your produce share. I didn’t do any additional shares. This share runs for 20 consecutive weeks starting the first week in June. The full share costs $625, my portion being $208. This breaks down to $10.40. Corn, Summer Squash, Eggplant, Head Lettuce, Green Beans, Onion, Heirloom Tomato, Carrots.

2016 Overview – Growing with Intention

https://lyndsymikaela.wordpress.com/2016-overview

For the 2016 season I will again participate in two CSA shares. This time around I will be getting two-thirds of a full share; one-third from Cure Organic Farm and the other third from 63rd Street Farm, Farm A from last season. As I mentioned last year, my employer sets aside money to subsidize our CSA shares. This year that translated around a 20% discount with 63rd Street Farm. This is (obviously) one of my favorite perks. I’ve put $421 into this season – breakdown below. Follow Along via Email.

After the 20th share in mid-October the distributions will switch to bi-weekly with the last share being distributed the Monday before Thanksgiving. With a total of $640 (after a 20 % subsidy from my job) I will be paying $213 for one-third of this share. This breaks down to $9.26 per week. Zucchini, Basil, Purple Cabbage, Turnips, String Beans, Baby Leeks. Follow Along via Email.

2015 Overview – Growing with Intention

https://lyndsymikaela.wordpress.com/2015-overview

2 farms, 23 weeks of local, seasonal produce 5 months of locally raised chicken & pork. If you haven’t heard of CSAs I don’t know how the heck you wound up here, but welcome! You can learn more about the CSA model here. This is also a great resource for anyone looking for their own CSA! Yes, I realize this amazing and I know I’m blessed to work where I do. Which allowed me to purchase a second share from the other farm I had my eye on 🙂. Is my chicken share. There will be five monthly distributions ...

Wed 01 November 2017. My annoyance of the day in Ruby: inconsistent usage of the inequality operator in the standard library. The generic inequality operator in Ruby throws an exception when objects of differing types are compared. This, in my opinion, is a good thing. I don't want to accidentally attempt to compare an integer and a class, for instance. ArgumentError: comparison of Fixnum with Class failed. ArgumentError: comparison of Fixnum with Class failed.
