Warp-Weighted Loom Weights | Robbie LaFleur
https://robbielafleur.com/2016/11/18/warp-weighted-loom-weights
I made a little factory and set out to make the weights in the hallway at my studio building, next to the deep sink. I used Dixie cups, and the coated paper peeled off much more easily than the plastic cup. I’m sure that many people would have been more scientific in their cement mixing and filling the cups. However, I ended up mixing cement the same way I have made frosting for all my adult life. Add some water (butter and milk for the frosting). Too thick? Add more liquid. Too liquid? Heavens to Mergatroid! | The City Girl Cooks
https://thecitygirlcooks.wordpress.com/2009/07/16/heavens-to-mergatroid
Cooking light, easy and cheap in a city apartment. The City Girl Cooks. When we returned from our honeymoon we got the sad news that we had lost Grandma. When we went home to be with my family, my mom made this pie, and I realized that besides “emergency rations,” this is the food I associate with Grandma. We all love it, and it’s even more special because the recipe came from her very good friend Florence. And I got the background straight from Florence, who says this about Muerber Teig:. Approx 1 pint ...

nyc2suburbia: Summer in the City - My NY
http://www.nyc2suburbia.com/2015/05/summer-in-city-my-ny.html
Sunday, May 31, 2015. Summer in the City - My NY. It's "officially" Summertime and I can't help but think about what Summer was like for me growing up in New York. As far back as I can remember I would escape to the roof in the Summertime, it was my retreat. My first recollection was when I learned how to roller skate on our roof in the Bronx. I learned to roller-skate almost before I could walk. Yeah it's true, at least that was what my mother told me. Years later, it happened! The "NYC bug" as a kid...

nyc2suburbia: Singing For My Supper - My NY
http://www.nyc2suburbia.com/2015/02/singing-for-my-supper-my-ny.html
Saturday, February 28, 2015. Singing For My Supper - My NY. I have so many memories and reasons of why I love my New York and of what it means to me. It's not just the bright lights, Broadway, limitless restaurants or the late night mentality. Even though I love all that, for me New York is my history and made me what I am today. Being a precocious child I wanted to do this too! I wanted to get the attention, the applause. okay I wanted the money. After all, I sang along to Judy Garland and. Since moving...

Obama: The Historic Journey | Reviews By K.
https://reviewsbyk.wordpress.com/2009/06/01/obama-the-historic-journey
If you want MY opinion…. About Reviews By K. Obama: The Historic Journey. I wanted my kids to understand that they have been a part of history. I could not have felt more proud to be an American than the day our country elected Barack Obama as our President of the United States. And naturally I wanted to commemorate the occasion. Anna Freud’s Weaving | Robbie LaFleur
https://robbielafleur.com/2016/09/25/anna-freuds-weaving
Anna Freud’s Weaving. Anna Freud was a weaver! The museum signage noted, “As Sigmund Freud used archaeology as a metaphor for psychoanalysis and the uncovering of ‘layers,’ Anna often used weaving metaphors to describe the development of the mind.” On the other hand, her father thought her weaving covered a “genital deficiency.” Weaving calmed her and helped her to concentrate, and she sometimes composed lectures while weaving. Did she weave the fabric on these pillows? September 25, 2016. Enter your ema...

nyc2suburbia: Connected in Suburbia
http://www.nyc2suburbia.com/2015/01/connected-in-suburbia.html
Thursday, January 15, 2015. I could never understand how people were constantly connected to their phones, tablets and computers. In fact it pissed me off. it still does when I see people with their faces buried in their own little world ignoring others and everything all around them. Well the tables have turned and I'm somewhat guilty now too. Have I become one of those people? Writing in My Fantasy World. The play we're developing. Phew, it's become a full-time job, but. Anyone that knows me, knows tha...
