Proof of progress - sarahlizzi. 22 February 2009 @ 10:13 pm. Today I did 4 loads of laundry, cleaned my house, ironed 3 blouses, made a cover for my brother's chair, altered a shirt (stupid j crew vanity sizing), watched 3 episodes of angel, hung out with my brother and sister, took a mini-nap, photographed (poorly) my latest sewing accomplishments, cooked dinner for three (chicken marsala, risotto, and broccoli) and even managed to shave my legs. Again, a self portrait (I need to fix my tripod! I love t...

My chemise dress - Chemise Dress Madness!
http://chemisedresses.livejournal.com/7502.html
Hemise · D. Ress · M. I needed I quick and pretty costume for the Friday night ball at Polaris 22 in Toronto, so I decided to jump on the band-wagon and make a chemise dress. Yay! Here's my first try-on. I love how you have to mostly finish the chemise dress before you can try it on. Here it's worn over my pink linen stays and petticoat. I liked the look of the pink peeking through so much I decided to keep it like that rather than make a white petticoat. Middot Leave a comment. I like the big, blue bow!

When Last We Left Our Intrepid Heroine. Aug 31st, 2012 at 8:52 AM. Why in the heck is it so hard to find decent dress diaries? I mean, where people take the time to iron the project and use materials that are suitable? Im sorry, but cotton is NOT a substitute for silk in general, and the fabrics behave differently, I think. Is the best Ive found right now, but Im sure there are others. I just cant *find* them! Reconstructing History- Uncompromising Excellence in Historical Clothing and Accoutrements.
