Just another day in the People's Republic of China. Part 2: Guangxi province. After a 17 hour journey from Kunming, Marija and I arrived in Guilin, a city in the Guǎngxī [广西] province. Just another day in the People's Republic of China. More of SF travel (very late). Part 3: Hong Kong. All you need to know is that Hong Kong is amazing! After being turned away from countless hostels and exploring Macau via taxis/buses, we were told all of Macau is full! In fact, patacas are worthless. They don’t accept them at the casinos (only Hong Kong Dollars) and if you pay for something in MOP, you could/will get change in HKDwhat country doesn’t have their own currency that’s worth something?

Just another day in the People's Republic of China. Long time no write. In the past 2 months, a lot has happened. I went to Shanghai with Josh and Marija back in early October (right after my last post). It was a blast! We took an overnight train (what an experience! It was a blast to plan, cook and eat with the gang here. And it was even more of an adventure because of the improvisation! How long until Christmas dinner…? Just another day in the People's Republic of China. The battle with the heart isn’t easily won. My time in China hasn’t been easy. If it wasn’t teaching I was adjusting to, it was the food and shitty beer. If I wasn’t happy with my classes, it was boredom that drove me nuts. This semester has been especially hard and many times I have thought, why can’t I go home tomorrow? Some have moved away from their families. I’ve had a unique experience and learned so much, but I get to. Begin my post-grad life.
