Tommi's Animation Blog: AM Showcase
http://tommigee.blogspot.com/2010/09/am-showcase.html
Monday, September 13, 2010. I hope to write a more elaborate update soon to let you know a little more about the amazing trip to the US this July/August, where we had a fantastic time at Siggraph, the AM graduation and then touring the south-western states. We travelled about 2300 miles and saw so much that it can't be put into a few sentences. Last not least, some shameless self-advertising :). I made it into this year's AM Showcase. Congrats to you guys! Go check it out on the AM Website. Reading: Hung...
Tommi's Animation Blog: March 2010
http://tommigee.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 8, 2010. AM Class 5 Multi Character Shot. I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, so here is an update. These are a few iterations of my 2 character dialogue scene, where Ben and Andy, two exterminators, are called to an appartment to catch some scary furry critter. Basically I tried to have contrast between the character's personalities and acting, so one of them is totally scared and freaks out and the other one tries to calm him down to get the job done. Rough poses and cameras). Reading:...
Tommi's Animation Blog: small reel update
http://tommigee.blogspot.com/2010/07/small-reel-update.html
Thursday, July 15, 2010. I will be leaving for the US very soon, and I'm starting to get nervous and excited. Booking motels, planning national park trips and routes, stuff like that. It's way more work that you'd expect :). And wish me luck! I'll be back in the middle of August, and I will have occasional email-access, although I'll try to stay away from computers as much as possible :). July 26, 2010 at 9:45 AM. Nice job on the cycles. Tommi's Animation Blog: New website
http://tommigee.blogspot.com/2010/05/new-website.html
Wednesday, May 26, 2010. I wanted to create a website for years to be able to show my portfolio, this year I felt like I had to get it done for the job search after Animation Mentor and for the fmx conference. So thanks to my sister Sabine, I managed to put something up :). Feel free to check my latest reel and resume at www.thomasgrummt.de. I registered at vimeo.com. Too, which seems to have become a very popular and widely used video platform, especially for animation. You can find me here. James Chian...
Tommi's Animation Blog: AM Class 6
http://tommigee.blogspot.com/2010/05/am-class-6.html
Tuesday, May 25, 2010. I was fortunate enough to get one of my favourite mentors of the school for class 6 - James Chiang. I watched quite a few of his critiques over the last months and attended one or two of his Saturday Q&As, and I was really impressed by his teaching style and professional approach. He seemed pretty tough too :). I'll only post the dialogue shots, because the mechanics shots had not been touched yet. Hope somebody is still following the blog :). May 25, 2010 at 6:40 PM. Ive seen all ...

Tommi's Animation Blog: AM week 503
http://tommigee.blogspot.com/2010/01/am-week-503.html
Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Munich is all snowy again! Wohooo, it just looks so nice getting up in the morning, looking out the window and finding everything white. Here is my final dialogue assignment with refined lipsync and face animation. One can keep working on those details forever, but I'll leave it like this for now and move on to the next shot. I wouldn't have that much time for a shot in an actual production environment anyways. As always, feedback is much appreciated :). See ya around,. James...
Tommi's Animation Blog: August 2009
http://tommigee.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 17, 2009. For the second assignment of Class 3 I wanted to try a shot that had a tiny bit of acting in it, as well as a mini story, while still focusing on challenging body mechanics. We are not supposed to focus on story and acting in this class, but I find that having a little something there makes the shot itself and working on it so much more fun. Polished version - week 307. Blocking plus / refining - week 306. Blocking - week 305. Planning - week 304. So don't hold back ;). Sorry for...

Saturday, June 20, 2009. AM Week 212 - End of Class 2. It's done. Class 2. Is finished and the term ended on Friday at noon, Pacific time. The last week of the term is always dedicated to some last fixes, the last Q&A and the creation of the progress reel, which shows all the assignments the students have done up to this point. While it's sad that it was the last week with my current classmates and my Mentor Josh. Once again thanks so much Josh for a great term and for all your help and support! The only...
