My Cream of Tomato Soup. 2 banana shallots chopped. 3 x 400g tins cherry tomatoes. Frac12; teaspoon sugar. A good pinch of sea salt, cayenne and freshly ground pepper. Melt the butter over a gentle heat and soften onions for a good 5 minutes, then add the garlic for a couple of minutes, then the tomatoes, and cook for about 20 minutes until the tomatoes are soft.

Thursday, May 7, 2015. Spring, Friends and Family Come to London, Part 4. The last week and a half before flying home to North Carolina, our last visitor came to stay with us in London. It was someone we especially wanted to share the end of our very happy time in this city we love. It was our son, Adam. He had been here in 1989-90 when he was only three years old, and he attended nursery school in Hampstead. Windows in London shops are always interesting. This is no exception.
