mathmom's blog: March 2014
http://mathmom-family.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Mostly a family blog, with occasional parenting advice, as well as a few opinions. Monday, March 10, 2014. I could fill this blog with stories about Luke. Here are some of the latest. He recently had a birthday, and decided to save his money. What is he saving it for? A farm. So we can grow food to eat. He realizes this will take a long time: when he broke the ukelele and I suggested he needed to pay for a new one his response was, "But I'm saving for a farm! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). mathmom's blog: August 2014
http://mathmom-family.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Mostly a family blog, with occasional parenting advice, as well as a few opinions. Sunday, August 31, 2014. Close to the tree. The other day I was going through the kids' bathrooms looking for socks when I ran into and knocked over the music stand in Amanda's bathroom. Of course she has a music stand in her bathroom, I thought. Right. When I asked her later what was up, she said that she had put a book on the stand to read while taking a shower (through the clear shower curtain, of course).

mathmom's blog: September 2014
http://mathmom-family.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Mostly a family blog, with occasional parenting advice, as well as a few opinions. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. The miracle of the shoes. Last weekend, Eleanor went with the youth group on a trip to the beach. On Friday night she went wading in the ocean, wearing her crocs. A wave as big as she is came crashing in to shore and she ran to the beach, trying to get out of the ocean. Unfortunately, her shoes got caught in the sand and were swept out to sea. Wednesday, September 24, 2014. The problem was, whe...

mathmom's blog: January 2014
http://mathmom-family.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Mostly a family blog, with occasional parenting advice, as well as a few opinions. Wednesday, January 29, 2014. So, Eleanor, the girl who will hardly have time to get dressed and eat breakfast after having been up for an hour and 20 minutes on a school day, woke up at 7 and is outside in her boots and jacket at 7:30. Because, of course, snow. We'll see who else gets up and out. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). People I know with blogs. Letters from a broad. Yelling at the radio. Helvidius, a pachyderm.

mathmom's blog: Dealing with Allergies
http://mathmom-family.blogspot.com/2015/02/dealing-with-allergies.html
Mostly a family blog, with occasional parenting advice, as well as a few opinions. Sunday, February 15, 2015. I have learned a few things over the years about dealing with allergies- -not that I'm an expert, especially about really severe allergies, or about non "top 7" allergies. Also, I haven't dealt with soy or wheat allergies lately, although I remember a few things. I may add to this as I remember more. If you can do gluten but not wheat, then oat flour is really the most delicious flour I've found.

mathmom's blog: Something for nothing
http://mathmom-family.blogspot.com/2015/02/something-for-nothing.html
Mostly a family blog, with occasional parenting advice, as well as a few opinions. Saturday, February 28, 2015. Luke ran outside and I turned to whatever other emergency was demanding my attention, probably laundry. I was anticipating a good long bit of quiet, but in a few minutes Luke appeared. "It's all done, Mom! All the way done? But next snowstorm I'll check the depth of the snow before offering any reward for (not) shoveling. :-). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). mathmom's blog: October 2014
http://mathmom-family.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Mostly a family blog, with occasional parenting advice, as well as a few opinions. Sunday, October 26, 2014. I sometimes write a list of the things that need to get done on days when the kids are home. One such day had things like "clean rooms," "practice," and "library" on it. Luke had wanted to make granola bars for a while, so I put "granola bars" down as the last item. How funny of me! Amanda picked up a pomegranate at the grocery store, and since it is my principle to let the kids get anything from ...

mathmom's blog: January 2015
http://mathmom-family.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Mostly a family blog, with occasional parenting advice, as well as a few opinions. Tuesday, January 27, 2015. I have been thinking about discipline lately. My father-in-law mentioned that my brother-in-law was a very disciplined person. I don't recall his wasting any time, ever, although he may have. But mostly he spent his time working on things that were important to him, and accomplished a lot. Wednesday, January 7, 2015. We were talking about the importance of toothbrushing the other day, and Eleanor...
