この写真は天文誌 星ナビ の前身誌 スカイウォッチャー のフォトコンテストで入選しました。 読みは はくば となっており、白浜 しらはま なのに白馬 はくば なのかと違和感を覚えてしまいます。 近くにある上船越免の 白馬 は しろま ですので、もしかしたら近くに同じ漢字の小字があるからという理由で、あえて違う読みにしたのかも知れません。 例をあげますと、 志々浦三百八十間遠浅横三十八丁 、 棒ヶ浦 現在の母ヶ浦 老浦湊悪 、 魚ヶ浦 現在の庵浦 湊悪シ 、 をしの浦 現在の鴛の浦 船繋悪 などとあり、ほとんどの港が悪いとなっています。 文化十年 １８１３年 １月４日 ６日の伊能忠敬測量日記には、現在の白浜海水浴場のあたりから、亀の子島あたりまでの海岸沿いの地名が次の順で記載されています。 国崎 白浜 七郎山崎 ダンジキケ浦 黒小島渡口 モツタケ浦 樫木谷鼻 白馬鼻 白馬ヶ浦 安塔寺浦 土井鼻 瀬戸口 土井浦小島 宮ノ小島. 地図を見ながら考えると、細長く突き出た七郎山崎の先端を回って半島の付け根に戻ってきており、明らかに同じ場所の西岸が 白浜 で東岸が 白馬ヶ浦 です。 はやはり 白馬 代間 稲作.
