Matt Amman: September 2013
http://mattamman.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 10, 2013. It was a great outcome this year. The biggest factor for the improvement was getting a coach, Mike Pierson. I'll give credit where credit is due. A few other notables for my sake to remember:. Day before meals: breakfast (muffin, banana) lunch (IHOP 2 eggs and potatoes) dinner (2 cans of Campbell's Chicken and Rice soup) 12 salt stick tablets during the day, sports drink, no water. EMST150 - 5 breathe strengther exercises about 20 seconds apart around 5:00 AM. Thinking a yell...

Thursday, June 12, 2014. 2014: Ironman 70.3 Kansas. A "C" race yielded a "C" like time. With Kona way out there in October I got a later start to formal training. Going into the race I did only did one or two bike workouts above zone 1. This put me way behind the others - Zucco, Girard, Iott, Bishop, and Bowe - coming off the bike. 900 CarboPro calories on the bike with Nuun tablet = great. 2 salt tablets on bike (cool day). No drink on run until mile 7 (only had coke). No side stitch entire day. Ironman...

Matt Amman: December 2013
http://mattamman.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 26, 2013. He came off the bike in the top 10 amateur and quickly worked his way up near the front before melting in the lava fields. He gets my vote for best performance (among my friends). (Thomas Brunold gets second because he rode his bike like a Mad Man at IM Wisconsin.). See you at the races. Adrienne was in Kona racing this year. I got to sit back and enjoy the view. Here were my many observations for when I race there next year. The out and back on Alli totals 10 miles; the out ...
Matt Amman: September 2012
http://mattamman.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 20, 2012. Since I've had a number of good races under my belt and done Kona, I don't really care about how it turns out and remain focused on being the rabbit and Thomas Brunold being the tortoise, ie keeping Thomas Brunold staying behind me for as long as possible (or any others for that matter.) My guess is that it'll take:. 10x200 on 2:30 with 10 seconds rest. 230 watts for 4 hrs. 7:05 pace for most runs. Swim - hard the first 100 yards, settle in. Bike - 220 watts; 260 hill cap.

Evan's Training Log: July 2012
http://evanmacfarlane.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 22, 2012. Coming into the first aid station. Just 41 miles to go. Without expending much energy. During the descent I finally started taking in some calories, but fewer than 200 (this after over 2 hours of running/walking). The view near the second aid station. The course climbs from near the low-point in this photo. The sole quarter mile of pavement approaching the second aid station. Hurting as I jog into the third aid station. Approaching aid station three on the way back. While each smal...
Evan's Training Log: 2013 Races
http://evanmacfarlane.blogspot.com/2012/12/2013-races.html
Sunday, December 2, 2012. Or two, and maybe even a grand fando. If time permits, I might even pick up some running snowshoes and try my hand at the CO state championships. The race I am most interested in at the moment, however, is SkyRunner race in Vail. Oh, and if I can get into the Leadville 100 mountain bike, I'll do that too. The problem is the lottery odds don't look that great and I don't know if I'll be fit enough to qualify. Finally, here is a Strava summary of my mountain biking skills:.

Monday, December 3, 2012. Two blog updates in two days! To the right I've now got (1) Strava activity, which is my current training log, and (2) Tweets, which are nonsense. That is all. Well, except this: I'm really pumped that there is now a MTB course within a short ride from my house. Hopefully the technical sections are difficult enough so that I can improve my skills. Now, I just need two hours of daylight after work. Sunday, December 2, 2012. Or two, and maybe even a grand fando. Silver Rush 50 MTB.
Evan's Training Log: Vegan?
http://evanmacfarlane.blogspot.com/2013/01/vegan.html
Sunday, January 13, 2013. After a few weeks of eating almost entirely plants (including beans and minimally processed grains), my energy level is fine and my weight is down to the lowest it's been since high school. So far, things have been a success. Here's a sampling of dinners:. Mexicali Tacos topped with kale and avocade. Homemade felafel over salad. Veggie-loaded, cheeseless "pizza". The road into the quaint town of Manitou Springs. Looking back 2/3 of the way up. March 12, 2013 at 10:41 AM. Life Is...
Evan's Training Log: December 2011
http://evanmacfarlane.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 21, 2011. 138 miles today, feeling like garbage. HR was high, speed was low, legs were tired, but my knee held out fine. Another long run tomorrow, but at a HR of just 145 bpm or so. How much for a 3,200 square foot Victorian home dating from 1910 in Detroit, you ask? Try $7,900. That's about how much my last tri-bike cost. Today's song, by M83:. Monday, December 19, 2011. Good News and Hopefully Minor Bad News. Tebowing on St. Mary's Glacier. The lake at the base of the glacier.
Evan's Training Log: May 2012
http://evanmacfarlane.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 31, 2012. First off, Stacey created a blog to serve as a scrap book for hikes, trips, and other things we do that I don't post. See that here: staceyandevanmacfarlane.blogspot.com. Today I actually made it up to Leadville to test ride part of the course. It went well, mainly because the first half of the course is not the least bit technical. See my ride here: http:/ connect.garmin.com/activity/184172143. A very steep climb starts the race:. Not much to look at:. All the way down:. Life Is ...
Evan's Training Log: Silver Rush 2 - MTB
http://evanmacfarlane.blogspot.com/2013/07/silver-rush-2-mtb.html
Thursday, July 18, 2013. Silver Rush 2 - MTB. My plan going into the race was to ride the first 25 miles conservatively so I'd have plenty in the tank for the final climb, a wicked uphill that starts below Printerboy and continues onward for another three miles up to 12,000 feet. Last year I felt like I gave away a lot of time on this climb and wanted to make sure that didn't happen again this year. Conor and I dressed warmly before the start. Tossing a bottle to Stacey below Printerboy. I was up and run...

Evan's Training Log: October 2013
http://evanmacfarlane.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Two Race Reports in One. This photo is from the UROC, which I didn't finish. I took this shot on what I believe in the 10 Mile Range. Breckenridge is to the left and Copper Mountain is on the opposite side of the ridge. The trail I'm heading toward is vaguely visible in the center region of the photo. So this is a somewhat contradictory post. To begin with, a quick recap of the Silver Rush 50 run way back in July:. Silver Rush 50 (aka, Day 2 of the Silver King). Frisco embraced ...

ÁNH MẮT TÂM LINH. Monday, April 10, 2006.

Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Out of shape, but that's okay. Wednesday, June 3, 2015. I ran yesterday for the first time in a couple of weeks. It was the best I felt in years. Between the easy 8:30 pace and my left ankle feeling normal for the first time in years it was a similar sensation to a taper run but much, much slower. I put my Trek Speed Concept up for sale and look forward to building up the Felt FC road bike this summer. Until then, Matt. Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Sunday, October 19, 2014.

Just another WordPress.com site. January 31, 2012. Why Flakiness Makes Us Drink the Haterade. My friend Lindsay runs the blog Meccanized. Flakiness. Aloofness. Lack of consideration. Combine them and what do you have? A recipe that is almost guaranteed to give me a rage stroke. Which is why it is so irritating and disrespectful when people flake incorrectly. Via e-mail, ten minutes before a Boot Camp exercise class a friend had committed to attending with me: Ate too much ice cream. Count me out. I am in...
