Along for the Ride: Life Laughed at my Good Intentions
http://mattandlemira.blogspot.com/2015/07/life-laughed-at-my-good-intentions.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. Life Laughed at my Good Intentions. It seems on the days when you're focused on being a good, kind, loving person, that life smacks you upside the head and says, "Oh, yeah, let's see how you handle THIS! That was yesterday after I posted. What did I do? Baby woke up not long after that, but I was able to feed her, and stay in control while Child #2 slowly calmed. He had a few more smaller episodes, but soon was able to wake up and be his very cheerful self. Help a Grieving Family!

Along for the Ride: The Day He Lived
http://mattandlemira.blogspot.com/2010/05/day-he-lived.html
Saturday, May 15, 2010. The Day He Lived. We need an answer ASAP.". Um uh, what? Depended upon who you asked. Basically, either choice could kill him. Our choice. . . Our answer: we need to consult with the attending neonatalogist again. His opinion was that we needed to find the source of infection. There was something different about this doctor. We could tell, so we asked, "Are you LDS? Twenty minutes later, the phone in the hospice room rang. The surgery was done; Jackson was STABLE! That Jackson was...

Along for the Ride: Refilling the Cup
http://mattandlemira.blogspot.com/2015/07/refilling-cup.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Today's thought about raising and rearing children in righteousness comes from Elder Quentin L. Cook. Even when there are significant challenges and some things go very wrong, most children are resilient, and the trust that is built by loving relationships with parents, especially the mother, can result in lasting, lifetime happiness. Along for the Ride: FYI: A Lesson in Grieving
http://mattandlemira.blogspot.com/2008/01/fyi-lesson-in-grieving.html
Sunday, January 27, 2008. FYI: A Lesson in Grieving. DO: Pray for them that they can find comfort and peace. Story: A friend of mine asked me once "How long is it okay to grieve? I told her to take as long as she needed. She then proceeded to tell me about a cousin of hers who told her that she needed to get over her loss because her emotions and depression were hard on the rest of the family and bringing them down. Ouch! That's like saying, "we're done comforting you, so you're on your own.". Finally, t...

Friday, August 7, 2015. Precious Memories of Our Ggma. Today I'll have my phone close by me as I wait for the text or phone call. I knew this day was coming and in many respects, prayed for it, for her, but it is not easy. Off and on I shed tears, and I reach for comfort food still now and then (yeah, almonds for now). My heart fills with love and I feel the spirit close by. I spent some part of every day there - eating an ice cream treat, playing in her orchard or covered patio, making up plays, looking...

Along for the Ride: Finding Contentment
http://mattandlemira.blogspot.com/2015/07/finding-contentment.html
Friday, July 24, 2015. Yesterday, I looked around my bathroom and sighed, "Can I never have a clean bathroom again? The toilet and sink were speckled in dirt, fly-away toothpaste, and scattered clothes and toys filled the empty spaces. The dreams of an always-clean bathroom mocked me. My living room and kitchen were in a similar disarray. As I climbed into the shower, to take a short reprieve from my day, the thought hit me hard, "Remember when you cried to have this? Along for the Ride: Day One, Again
http://mattandlemira.blogspot.com/2015/07/day-one-again.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. Day One, Again. I'm grateful that I started posting in June. I have to be honest that as I went back and read, I kept telling myself, "I wrote that? They were things I needed to hear again, and it's only been a little over a month since I wrote them. I am human. I HAVE slipped into a few of my old ways. I am noticing that if I don't focus every single day to change my habits, they like to come back swinging their way into my life. Let us know what you are thinking! The Day He Lived.

Along for the Ride: Attitude Is Everything
http://mattandlemira.blogspot.com/2015/06/attitude-is-everything.html
Wednesday, June 10, 2015. My thoughts for today come from a brief article in a past Ensign. Elder Richard G. Scott. Said that the Lord’s healing “can mean being cured, or having your burdens eased, or even coming to realize that it is worth it to endure to the end patiently. For God needs brave sons and daughters who are willing to be polished when in His wisdom that is His will” ( Ensign,. May 1994, p. 7). Let us know what you are thinking!
