The Young Feller: August 2016
http://calferguson.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html
26 - Darwen, Lancashire - Fell Runner. Runs in the family". Friday, 12 August 2016. Salomon Speedcross 4 review. I have had the previous model of the Salomon Speedcross, the Speedcross 3, as well as other Salomon shoes in the past. The Speedcross is, from my own observations, the most popular model of Salomon shoe, at fell races anyway! One of the aspects of the new model is the colour range that they are available in. If they weren't a noticeable shoe before, they definitely are now! Salomon have upped ...

http://calferguson.blogspot.com/2016/09/inov-8-x-talon-225-review.html
26 - Darwen, Lancashire - Fell Runner. Runs in the family". Monday, 26 September 2016. Inov-8 X-Talon 225 review. After using Inov-8 for around a year now, I know I can trust their shoes and the grip they sole them with. So that's bullet point 1 ticked off! The fresh, red. Red has always been my favourite colour, being a Liverpool fan it's pretty obvious why! See the Roadclaw 275 here - ROADCLAW 275. Descending Scafell Pike in my not so red X-Talon 225. The Young Feller: September 2015

26 - Darwen, Lancashire - Fell Runner. Runs in the family". Monday, 21 September 2015. Scafell Pike fell race 2015. The title says it all on this occasion. We often choose to challenge ourselves and enter in to battle against the hills and mountains, after all, that's a major part of fell running, arguably that's what fell running is! So, I thought, well if I'm going to climb England's highest mountain for the first time, why not race it? Once we got up on to Lingmell, parts became runnable which was a r...

The Young Feller: February 2016
http://calferguson.blogspot.com/2016_02_01_archive.html
26 - Darwen, Lancashire - Fell Runner. Runs in the family". Monday, 15 February 2016. New Year, New Me". You might be asking yourself why I open the blog with a paragraph like that, but once my planned 5-6 week low mileage "break" was over, following the Tour of Pendle, I had next level training planned, changes to be made. My return to what I call proper training, began on the week of Christmas, what a week to choose eh? Cross Country at it's best - mud, sweat and falling runners. He was running back up...

The Young Feller: January 2014
http://calferguson.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
26 - Darwen, Lancashire - Fell Runner. Runs in the family". Sunday, 26 January 2014. Quick Update - 26th January 2014. I'm now well into my Biosciences course, only around 16 weeks left in fact and things seem to be going okay so far. I'm enjoying most aspects of the course although some are really tough to get your head around and some days it feels like nothing is going in at all but I've no plans to give up. With around seven league games left and hopefully a cup run, Greenfield are more than half way...

A unique set up on the summit of Hartley fell near the boundary between Cumbria and North Yorkshire, just a few miles from Kirkby Stephen, which is where the race starts from. The race is always on New Years Day and from my own knowledge, has always been the same 8 mile course. Nine Standards - 9 cairns atop of Hartley fell (photo credit Kreuzschnabel, Wikipedia).

26 - Darwen, Lancashire - Fell Runner. Runs in the family". Tuesday, 21 April 2015. Digging Deep with Sockmine GripLock. Over the past few weeks I have continued with my racing, ever since completing the Viper 369. People suggested taking time off to recover, mainly to avoid injuring myself, but, I feel good and felt no reason to do this. Rain sodden day in Accrington for the 2nd Ron Hill 10k, adding to the pain. On the way to a 5k PB at Preston parkrun - April 4th 2015. As I ran my first half marathon t...

http://calferguson.blogspot.com/2015_12_01_archive.html
26 - Darwen, Lancashire - Fell Runner. Runs in the family". Sunday, 6 December 2015. The now infamous 70 race season. The onesie, I mean) and then to round off 2014, I ran the Ribble Valley 10k, in icy conditions. 2014 Hurst Green Turkey Trot - race #1. After a few chats with my mate and regular training/racing partner, Brian Morris, I came to the conclusion that it was time to make a decision; football or running! One of my last appearances in a footy kit! Heading back off Pendle hill- #19. Great Hill, ...
