Thursday, 19 April 2012. Piccole tartellette frangipane alla frutta. One day, then, when the longing became just too much to bear, she decided to make flowers the way they used to be. Now you may expect something extravagant, something weird, something grand and perhaps something mad… and you'd be right. Because flowers back then were made of glass, and the petals were made of frangipane tartelettes. 150 g plain flour. 1 pinch of baking powder. 1/4 lemon (or orange) zest. Half a vanilla pod's seeds.

Monday, 30 July 2012. Polpette di melanzana - Aubergine balls. Pushing across the sky. And they knew because it had been given to Khepri by Divine Cherry and Celestial Dragon, both of whom at that time used to be the spiritual leaders of the City of the Sun. Something to do- whereas he, who had created himself and was thus not bound to any aspect of the cosmos particularly, was purpose-less. And so it was that Divine Cherry's cuisine. And the people of the City of the Sun, when they realised that the rad...

pinch of salt: Postcard from...Seville
http://www.pinchofsaltlondon.com/2014/04/postcard-fromseville.html
A London food blog with recipes. Cafes of the Week. Travel and Postcards From. Monday, 7 April 2014. Plazas filled with orange trees, late-night bars with generous gin-pouring policies and impromptu flamenco shows, and tapas joints with hams dangling from the ceiling: Seville was everything I hoped it would be. We only had two nights in this sultry Spanish city, and food was obviously priority uno. So I booked a Sevilla Tapas. Tour with local expert Shawn Hennessey. Follow Shawn on Twitter: @sevillatapas.

Favoloso Pasticcio: January 2014
http://favolosopasticcio.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, 26 January 2014. It has been a while. It has been a while indeed since Divine Cherry and Celestial Dragon have graced us with their presence. Numinous beings: they're all the same. Smug buggers. Perhaps, though, it only seems. And so it has been with Celestial Dragon and Divine Cherry. Time and speed are irrelevant, but space always moves. And they with and within it. And in order to celebrate their having come back, Divine Cherry has decided to bake a cake. Surprise surprise. And so it is that t...

Favoloso Pasticcio: March 2012
http://favolosopasticcio.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 28 March 2012. Tiger Bread – or Giraffe Bread, but more accurately Tortoise Bread. Traditionally, these buns were called "tiger buns". Clearly, whoever gave them that name had never seen a tiger: they are striped. Then, one day, a little girl wrote. Obviously, the tortoise was sceptical at first. Also at second, and even at its third thought the tortoise wasn't sure it wanted to become bread. Sara and Erica of Baking JDs were our March 2012 Daring Baker hostesses! Recipe provided by Baking JD.

A London food blog with recipes. Cafes of the Week. Travel and Postcards From. Friday, 4 October 2013. Postcard from Boerum Hill and Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. New York.I miss you. It's over a year since J and I packed up our London life and headed across the Atlantic for an amazing fall adventure of eating, drinking and working (plus battling a certain Hurricane named Sandy) in NYC. While I was there, Sainsbury's Magazine. Once seriously scruffy, the area is now full of hip cafes, atmospheric bars and great...
