The art of questioning. Thursday, May 24, 2007. I do, in fact, still exist. So does this blog, though I haven't posted much lately.the essence of any blog, really. I just wanted to say, I think that I am a general agnostic; that often I purposefully live in a place of ignorance so as to be able to answer "I don't know" when asked for my opinion on a controversial subject. It's actually easier to live on the fence than to choose a side, it seems. May 25, 2007 11:23 AM. June 02, 2007 10:26 PM.

The Yam: March 2005
http://theyam.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
Because Yam's are funny. Tuesday, March 15, 2005. What is happening in Syria and Lebanon is fascinating. Rarely do international affairs peak my interest, and local affairs have almost no detection on my radar, but the recent events in the middle east are truly remarkable. Pulling from a Washington Post article. Anyway, it's worth reading up on. Many attribute the war in Iraq as the tipping point that is starting this "revolution". Posted by The Yam @ 10:21 AM. curious world: July 2007
http://curious-world.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
The art of questioning. Monday, July 30, 2007. One thing I have noticed about atheists is that they tend to define themselves negatively. In fact, their name is a negative definition; "a" meaning no, "theos" meaning God. (My Greek may not be perfect, but that's the gist of it, anyway.). Why would that be? But when any one group defines themselves negatively, who are they really? Are they a group when they have nothing to oppose? And, with a briliant twist of logic, atheism now no longer exists.

The art of questioning. Wednesday, June 04, 2008. This song makes me tear up every time. Her green plastic watering can. For her fake chinese rubber plant. In fake plastic earth. That she bought from a rubber man. In a town full of rubber plants. Just to get rid of itself. And it wears her out, it wears her out. It wears her out, it wears her out. She lives with a broken man. A cracked polystyrene man. Who just crumbles and burns. He used to do surgery. For girls in the eighties. But gravity always wins.

curious world: November 2007
http://curious-world.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
The art of questioning. Tuesday, November 27, 2007. This was a class field trip, an arts and science symposium within the university featuring keynote speaker Alan Lightman. You may remember him from such books as. Einstein's dreams, Ghost,. Problem Book in Relativity and Gravitation. But trust me when I tell you that the article indicates that 40% of scientists in the US believe in a personal God. So I chose to keep silent and save my opinion for my FBA. Is Lightman an idiot? Clearly not. My intenti...

curious world: Sexy science
http://curious-world.blogspot.com/2007/10/sexy-science.html
The art of questioning. Monday, October 29, 2007. What is it about science that we are all so attracted to? I suppose it works for us most of the time, as a whole functioning system. But why is scientific knowledge held up as the highest form of thinking, of knowing, of operating? Why do parents cringe when their children go into the arts and rejoice when they go into science? In reality, the degrees are equally useful when it comes to job searching.). Labels: Science is cool. October 29, 2007 5:15 PM.

curious world: Theories on the emergence of ridiculous fashion
http://curious-world.blogspot.com/2007/11/theories-on-emergence-of-ridiculous.html
The art of questioning. Wednesday, November 21, 2007. Theories on the emergence of ridiculous fashion. Big hair in the 80s - Cherise was tired of not getting noticed in the business world, and concluded that it was because she was a diminutive woman. So, much like defense mechanisms in the animal world, she chose to make her hair as big as it could humanly become to communicate a sense of danger and aggression to her rivals. American flag pants - Originally worn based on a dare to steal the school flag.
