work in progress

Pictures and updates on our rehab of a 2-family in South St. Louis. Friday, August 31, 2007. Paul was trying to refinish the closet doors but they are not turning out so well. At this point, I think we may just use fabric panels for doors right now and maybe buy new closet doors at some point. There is not too much left to do in the bedroom. Mostly touch up paint and refinishing floors. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). These are pictures of the 1st floor apartment, aga. Lets try this again.

http://maureenandpaul.blogspot.com/2007/08/dining-room_31.html

Pictures and updates on our rehab of a 2-family in South St. Louis. Friday, August 31, 2007. The dining room did not need much work. There were a few parts of the wall that had to be patched. Tessa helped me paint this room. I really wanted a red dining room. I thought red would be a very dramatic color and appropriate for a dining room. Paul was not really into the red idea. He was very kind though and allowed me to paint one wall red. We compromised! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Brian in New Zealand: Had the fun, time to work

http://brianwerner.blogspot.com/2008/01/had-fun-time-to-work.html

Brian in New Zealand. Monday, January 28, 2008. Had the fun, time to work. This might be the last post I can do for the next couple of weeks. Tomorrow morning(at 6:20am) Ashley and I start work at a cherry orchard. It's the prime picking and packing season so we'll be working straight through without days off for the next three weeks or so. It should be a good chance to bolster our bank accounts. Wine Not? Migrant Work in New Zealand: Home

http://ashleyinnz.blogspot.com/2008/04/home.html

Migrant Work in New Zealand. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. Well, I am home now. We took a few days before leaving NZ to roadtrip to Nelson and Picton (the locations of our first roadtrip) where we did some last minute shopping and general relaxing. We got back to the vineyard Monday. We spent Tuesday packing and returning books to the library in town. We had a farewell feast of lambchops, mashed potatoes and veggie stir fry. However, the movies didn't work for the first 3 hours of the flight so we only had ti...

Wine Not? Migrant Work in New Zealand: HARVEST!

http://ashleyinnz.blogspot.com/2008/04/harvest.html

Migrant Work in New Zealand. Wednesday, April 16, 2008. Well we finished the apple business, got into the sea kayaking and national park hiking business for a few days and then headed back to Blenheim for the grape HARVEST! Sea kayaking was amazing, one of many newly aquired tastes to take home (to Iowa? We saw a penguin swimming around, that was awesome! We had perfect weather and had so much fun in our kayak built for two. On Thursday morning Brian caught a bus to Christchurch to practice with his ulti...

Wine Not? Migrant Work in New Zealand: Expensive Taste

http://ashleyinnz.blogspot.com/2008/02/expensive-taste.html

Migrant Work in New Zealand. Saturday, February 16, 2008. We worked for 2 weeks at an orchard- Brian picked the cherries and I working inside the packhouse sorting them to be exported, sold to the locals or turned into jam (or basically thrown away). I think Brian enjoyed his time outside in the trees and he made decent money when the trees were good and there were full work days to be had. We made some really great friends: 4 Americans (Suzie, Erin, Rashida and Charles! But we didn't. Damn. Oh well, the...

Sunday, October 23, 2011. Now I'm just bragging. Can I brag about my husband for a minute? He is good at many things. He won't tell you that, but I will. Without him I would be technologically illiterate instead of just mildly dumbfounded. If he wasn't around I'd never know where my keys, phone, slippers, camera, sanity or children* are. Not to mention his ability to make me smile even when I just. don't. want. to. The budget hasn't changed though. And now I give you, Madeline's book shelf. The bead boar...

Jimnys and their crews will have covered in the region of 17,000 road miles. What an amazing feat for the old guys! Just before they arrived in New York Les thought they should have another go at camping. This time they were talking to one another, so the tent went up without any paddies from anyone. Although Les had his man.

RETIREMENT ADVENTURES

Wednesday, December 2, 2009. NOV 30 to DEC 3 - ON THE ROAD HOME. We left Yuma on November 30th and headed out on the Interstate 8. Approximately 7 miles outside of Yuma we went through the Imperial Sand Dunes and were surprised to see this large desert area of beautiful sand dunes which reminded us of the ones in Oregon. We will definitely want to visit these when we return to Yuma! We drove through many small towns after Palm Springs as we wanted to avoid Los Angeles and the roads were in very poor cond...

Thursday, May 13, 2010. As per my last post, I am continuing my mini-saga about my mini bridal party members! If you are an avid follower of this blog, then I have no doubt that you will recognize the youngest member who was officially added the latest:. Sunday, May 9, 2010. Dear everybody, meet Chloe:. She is one of those blessed souls who can't help but be brutally authentic. Her mother tells me stories of when, in a fit of anger, she will convincingly proclaim, "I no love you!
