Kat-Sur-Seine: Fes/Fez
http://kat-sur-seine.blogspot.com/2010/02/fesfez.html
English teaching assistant in france. On Sunday, February 28, 2010. I was told to expect that Morocco be a huge culture shock for me, and it was - I thought I wouldn't be that fazed by it but it's so unlike anything I've ever experienced or imagined. But I was really excited too, of course. The airport was quite small but really clean and beautiful - lots of mosaics everywhere. For some reason I'd been expecting it to be huge and dusty and lots of donkeys roaming around freely. (? Usually cities trickle ...

Kat-Sur-Seine: In transit to Morocco: Paris-Alicante
http://kat-sur-seine.blogspot.com/2010/02/in-transit-to-morocco-paris-alicante.html
English teaching assistant in france. In transit to Morocco: Paris-Alicante. On Sunday, February 28, 2010. I couldn't find a cheap direct flight from Paris to Fez, so I booked a plane Paris (Beauvais)-Alicante, for the Saturday, then Alicante-Fez for Sunday. And actually I was quite happy with the idea of getting to drop into Spain, albeit extremely briefly. Although it was slightly inconvenient, really - meant two days of being in transit to get to Fez. Yawn. Soo much fuss and hassle. Sunday: had a chat...

English teaching assistant in france. On Thursday, April 29, 2010. Well, back in l'australie, where the weather is fine and I understand what people say. Everything seems so familiar and so foreign all at once. It's been really good for me to get away and get some perspective, I really appreciate where I live more now. Things I will miss most about Paris and France:. My lovely new friends. Everything feeling exciting and new and undiscovered. My twelve hours (or less) per week job. Blah blah etc etc.

Kat-Sur-Seine: Marrakech/Essaouira
http://kat-sur-seine.blogspot.com/2010/03/marrakechessaouira.html
English teaching assistant in france. On Monday, March 8, 2010. The food in these night stalls is excellent. Fresh seafood and meat and vegetables, grilled right in front of you with much sizzle and smoke and pizazz. Couscous and tagines and brochettes - oh my! I'm sure even the French wouldn't dare such a stunt.). Protests. But yes, it was certainly an experience. We couldn't figure out how they made the floor and the room so warm? Eating fish grilled in front of me at the Fish Souks. Yum. Buying more s...

Kat-Sur-Seine: September 2009
http://kat-sur-seine.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
English teaching assistant in france. It is not the sea to drink? On Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Since arriving, I think I've managed not to irritate the French too much. Almost everyone I've met has been super-duper nice, but every now and then I get inexplicable stares, especially from women passing me on the street. I straighten my clothes and smooth my hair and look around nervously to see what rule I'm violating. But nothing is amiss (I think). What's up, Frenchies? In other news, Paris is awesome.

Kat-Sur-Seine: December 2009
http://kat-sur-seine.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
English teaching assistant in france. On Thursday, December 17, 2009. I can now officially scratch 'see snow' off my meteorological to-do list. Or in plainer English: I saw snow for the first time today! I'd read the forecast for snow a few days ago and was pretty excited about seeing it for the first time. I kept waking up in the middle of the night and getting up to peer through the window - snow yet? No is it snowing yet? Luckily was wearing shoes) and had to go to school to keep warm. I was bumme...

Kat-Sur-Seine: January 2010
http://kat-sur-seine.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
English teaching assistant in france. On Thursday, January 28, 2010. Yes, it's a little bit past the true mid-winter, but don't rain on my parade. (Paris is taking care of me on that count anyway. Grey, grey, all the days. Rain, rain, go away.). So last week I went (for free! Have you been to the Petit Palais? Oh, no. not yet. I hear it's good though! Oh ok well have you been to the Madeleine? How about the flea markets at St Ouen? Nope not those yet either.". No But I've been to Notre Dame! Ducked down ...

Kat-Sur-Seine: promenade
http://kat-sur-seine.blogspot.com/2010/03/promenade.html
English teaching assistant in france. On Monday, March 15, 2010. After spending a lazy sunday morning in bed reading and dozing, in fear of muscle atrophy I decided to get out and go for an afternoon promenade in the rues of Paris. We've got some serious rollerskating to do here! It just makes me so happy when people go out and do things. I wish I did things. Maybe I will one day! I'm thinking about joining a choir. Anyway, back to rollerblading. If you want to find out more, I think I found website.

Thank you for your very interesting games and your good mood!

Kat-Sur-Seine: October 2009

English teaching assistant in france. My Visa hates me. On Saturday, October 24, 2009. Just got a letter from immigration saying that I have my compulsory medical visit when I'm supposed to be in The Netherlands. Yeah Thanks alot. Barely one week's notice. So basically going to have to cut my trip short, and change my return train ticket to Sunday which will be twice as expensive. Why has this visa been so hard to get? A little silly, but two made me laugh in particular:. On Friday, October 23, 2009.
