Whats new with m&m&k? Friday, May 7, 2010. It's been a busy spring around here with much talk of gardening and house projects that need doing. Has been doing his part and helping where he can. His favorite accessory of late is Max's pair of ear protection headphones. He wears them for work and play and would likely wear them for everything else if he had his way. He has been right in the middle of the construction of our garden containers for the deck. He's an enthusiastic worker. Thursday, May 6, 2010.

Whats new with m&m&k? Sunday, March 24, 2013. Last few weeks of winter. Then a little warm up (and if you can catch the eye of a little girl on skis, all the better). Line up at the start. Kieran, farthest from the camera, was the youngest racer in this lineup, but he wasn't intimidated. This race turned out to be a skicross course which was a first for Kieran. He did great, making all the gates and in the picture he had just landed the jump before the finish. I don't know which one is more proud. Fly lo...

Whats new with m&m&k? Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Summer fish camp and autumn 2012. Thanks to Max we have another freezer full of salmon this year. Kieran was a right in the middle of the smoking operation. We hope for sunny, breezy weather for our smoking weekend. Unfortunately we didn't get it this year. Bring on the tarps! Whats new with m&m&k? Sunday, November 15, 2009. Mommy's BIG Arctic adventure. Break a limb, or otherwise come up with an airtight excuse to stay home. I can't say the time flew by while on the ship but I will admit that in hind sight it may have been a worthwhile adventure to be a part of, and it will be a story to tell Kieran. For years to come. Raffle winnings.his first pair of ski sleeves. Just like the Olympics. Um, right? Sudden change of scene, we're in Westport, Climbing Point of Rocks with cousins on a perfect summer evening. Not much better than that. Sam and Kieran.poor lobsters, you were delicious. Another terrific Westport River mussel feast, thanks to Max.

Adventures of The Sweeties. Saturday, June 04, 2011. We only caught a couple small Char the first night but it was a great evening on the lake. It was midnight by the time we got in had some dinner and got the boys in bed. I have not been up that late in a long time but it was nice to enjoy the sunset (yes, this was taken at midnight! The low clouds were actually smoke from a forest fire burning in the distance. This is the view from the front porch of the cabin first thing on Friday morning- Spectacular!

Living and playing in Aotearoa. Saturday, May 30, 2009. And one last adventure. Since we actually got 2 days without rain I headed further north and hiked up to the summit of Mt. Oxford with Steve and Nicky. The trip map is shown below. The starting elevation is just below 400m and the summit is at 1364m. The whole trip took us about 9 hours. It was a marvelous sunny day and the snowline had descended down to about 1000m. The summit was covered in snow. Yay! And the reward upon our return - BEER!
