Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Bizarre Travels 1.1. My last post might be considered a bizarre travels post. It wasn't, as Put-In-Bay does not qualify as Bizarre, just cheesy. Maybe in the future I will start a cheesy travel section. If you are lucky, er, providentially favored. So, what is the Mothman? The events began began in late 1966. A creature, described as an eight foot tall creature with wings, red eyes, and no face was spotted by a couple driving along a lonely country road. So, there is certainly...

Reformed Charismatic Pope: March 2008
http://refcharpope.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 31, 2008. Pidgeon Forge: An illustration. Look, I'm not a culture snob. I appreciate all types of different culture that we have here in America from Americana to the hip, urban place where I live now. It's all interesting in its own way and shows the diversity that is one of our country's strengths. But, this weekend, I gazed into one of its glaring warts: Pidgeon Forge, Tenn. Friday, March 21, 2008. For me, there are a lot of things dying right now in my life. But, Easter is coming. Our d...

Reformed Charismatic Pope: February 2008

Monday, February 25, 2008. There will be Blood. Watching the Oscars last night, I was rooting for two movies, There will be Blood and No Country for Old Men. The Coen. Brothers had a huge night and I'm happy for them. They are one of my top three filmmakers of all time. But, There will be Blood should have won. This movie is simply one of the best I have ever seen. It has everything I want in a movie, good acting, writing, and gorgeous filming. Have they become the same in their approach? We just install...

Thinking Out Loud: November 2009

Our thoughts on many things from just us to justice! Monday, November 2, 2009. My family and I are blessed to work for the CCO, which offers some pretty incredible Health Care. Having worked for an insurance several years ago, I know something that a lot of people don't: while it is true that to some degree an insurance company determines the service you receive, it is actually your employer (unless you buy insurance directly) that determines your benefits! But imagine other scenarios that many face:.

Thinking Out Loud: August 2010
http://jkbergeson.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Our thoughts on many things from just us to justice! Monday, August 30, 2010. I just finished reading this wonderful book called Little Lamb Who Made Thee? A Book about Children and Parents. You are beautiful. You are beautiful. If you think you’re ugly, you’ve let a fool define you. Don’t! And if the Lord God took thought to create you, why would you let a sinner define you? God conceived of time and in that instant considered the purposeful thump of your heart- and the blink of your eyelid. Sleep peace...

Reformed Charismatic Pope: December 2007

Monday, December 31, 2007. Sifting through His Dark Materials: Intro. Such is not the case the “His Dark Materials” series by Phillip Pullman. Or rather, that depends on which interview you read. In some interviews, he describes his work as just a story, meant to be read and enjoyed. Fine and good. In others, he states his intention is for this book to be the “Anti-Narnia” and to undermine Christianity. So, which one to believe? I will begin with the reaction to the story in a few days. I am geeking out!
