It's never too late to be vaccinated. The strains of meningococcal bacteria which are most common differ from country to country, and even locally from region to region. There are vaccines available, but they don't protect against all strains (serogroups) of meningococci. For adults and children over 12 months, one vaccination provides long term protection against C-strain). For babies under 12 months vaccination is not recommended as it is so rare. There's a vaccine for C, A, W and Y strains.

THE NSW Waratahs were clearly a cut above the competition coming into the 2011 Australian Netball League grand final. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed teams all finished their seasons on 12 points, while the Waratahs placed 1st with a maximum of 16 points. Furthermore, in four of their seven matches, the Waratahs beat their opponents by a margin of more than 20 goals.
