The finest and the fantabulous. Friday, July 07, 2006. A thought on my pillow. Originally uploaded by roxydynamite. I've extended the deadline for the haikus until Saturday. Won't you play along? Come on pretty, please. Impress me with your syllabic stylings. My first for this round. Open road, best friend. Stop: Listen to late night rain. I came across a new place to participate in poetry challenges today while running through blogs that participate in Self Portrait Challenge. Links to this post:. MAGPI...

The Metaphorical Magpie: Monkey business

http://metaphoricalmagpie.blogspot.com/2006/06/monkey-business.html

The finest and the fantabulous. Thursday, June 15, 2006. Who doesn't love super good surprise mail? Who dares to say they don't care for monkeys? The masterminds over at Careerbuilder.com have this cool Monk-e-mail. That is totally hilarious. You can dress a chimp up with various hairdos, outfits and accessories. Then you tell them what to say to your friends. I received one as a birhday greeting last night from my fabulous pal Benjamin. And other blogs of craft. Posted by Rachel at 6/15/2006 10:40:00 AM.

I consider myself to be a magpie. This is a collection of all the shiny, wonderful things I would normally carry around in my pockets. Scraps of paper, bits of string, shooter marbles and diamond rings. Busy as a birdie? Boo boos and bling bonk. Fun Facts about Moi: Self Portrait Challenge. Poppies for Memorial Day.

The Metaphorical Magpie: Self portrait as ... hydrangea

http://metaphoricalmagpie.blogspot.com/2006/07/self-portrait-as-hydrangea.html

The finest and the fantabulous. Tuesday, July 25, 2006. Self portrait as . hydrangea. Originally uploaded by roxydynamite. I had so many ideas for the Self Portrait Challenge this month. It's such a drag that time was so scarce. The day I shot this, I planned to do a self portrait as. Yulia Tymoshenko. With her girlish hairstyle, pearls and peter pan collars. I love the juxtaposition of power and femininity. As I write this, I am sipping coffee and nibbling on buttered cinnamon raisin toast while sitting...

Magpie Tendencies: January 2007

http://magpietendencies.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 18, 2007. This isn't working out, is it? I know it, you know it. I think really we've both known for a long time. I've just been trying not to think about it. I just need a little more time. Time at least to actually take those photos of the fantastic parcel Zoe. Sent me. I think I owe you (and her) that much. Posted by Magpie K @ 6:11 PM. View my complete profile. I like to read. A Bird in the Hand. It's what I do. Um, is it December already? I cant get no satisfaction. Time on my hands.

Magpie Tendencies: February 2006

http://magpietendencies.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 28, 2006. All of me - week 4. Although I'm a fairly good-natured person, my temper does sometimes get the better of me. I think I learned my lesson today though. Split knuckles, lots of pain, much sobbing. And so here I am: one hand bandaged and still aching, typing clumsily with the other and feeling thoroughly ashamed of myself for being so damn childish. Ummm, yeah. It's for teacher training college. Posted by Magpie K @ 9:56 PM. Wednesday, February 22, 2006. Aberfeldy, Young Forever.

Magpie Tendencies: December 2006

http://magpietendencies.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 08, 2006. Um, is it December already? It's been so long, I sort of feel like I should have something momentous to say, some sort of big 'ta-da! But no, I think I'll just slip back in and see if anyone notices! I will assure you that no, I have not been in early hibernation (I wish! There's also a little something called Christmas that I'm dying to start getting excited about. I have a huge enormous. Thankyou to say to. Oh, it feels good to be back. Let's see if I can keep this up, eh?

Magpie Tendencies: May 2006

http://magpietendencies.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 29, 2006. Some photos, as promised. I'm not sure how great they are, but it's a start. And I enjoyed taking them. The Botanical Gardens in Belfast are really close to where Steven was living this year; we walked through them to get into town and the Palm House is nice for a wee wander through on the way past. I should have take pictures of the outside of it too, it's. Posted by Magpie K @ 11:09 PM. Saturday, May 27, 2006. Finally - Not Self Portrait Challenge! Posted by Magpie K @ 1:53 PM.

Magpie Tendencies: August 2006

http://magpietendencies.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 25, 2006. I can't get no satisfaction. I'm having some difficulty with blogging at the minute. I think this may be a symptom of something bigger and I feel like I need a bit of a break to sort out what's going on in my head and in the rest of my life. I'm having a hard time trying to articulate what exactly is wrong but I think perhaps the word is. I'm looking forward to starting at Moray House but I am nervous about it too. What if I don't enjoy it? So, like this post, everything's feelin...

Magpie Tendencies: July 2006

http://magpietendencies.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html

Monday, July 31, 2006. The sobs that shake the cinema seating. Steven and I went to see. The Wind That Shakes the Barley. On Saturday night at the Cameo. The Cameo one of my favourite cinemas in Edinburgh; it's fairly small and old and shows lots of foreign and independent films. The place was under threat recently when there were plans to turn it into some kind of 'style bar', but I think those plans have been. When it comes at the cost of losing such a lovely cinema? I'm not sure I could say I enjoyed.

http://magpietendencies.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 29, 2006. Steven and I have just come back from a party. I made a cake today to take with us, a chocolate Malteser cake. Mmmm! I think I actually like the baking more than the eating though - is that weird? The only thing I don't like about baking cakes is lining cake tins. I'm too much o. F a perfectionist for that. Anyway, here is the finished result:. Posted by Magpie K @ 11:52 PM. Trying to make it up to you. Am I boring you? Here is one to prove that I have actually been working....

Head For The Hills. Wendy Andrews PI, is hot on the trail of her latest case.how can she tell if her PTSDs are triggered or if something 'bad' is actually happening to her in the present moment? This may seem very odd. SURELY one would know. But apparently not always, especially if one's own birth was the very first traumatic event that fired up the survival system. However, in the words of fellow seamus, Jeffrey Lebowski, new evidence has come to light, man. 8203;Eventually, life became challenging agai...

Metaphorically Writing

Review: The Reckoners by Brandon Sanderson. I cannot rave enough about Brandon Sanderson’s Reckoners series. It has become a new personal favorite and is easily the best thing I’ve recently read. As brilliant as Sanderson’s writing is, the audiobook narrated by MacLeod Andrews. Takes it to the next level, so much so that I have hunted down all of his other narrations. (Seriously, if you’ve never listened to an audiobook before, start with this one.). The cast of quirky characters and witty dialogue keeps...

How I love to laugh. March 20, 2014. If we couldn’t laugh we would all go insane. I notice I’m laughing a lot, lately. Loud, belly laughter, that rumbles and ripples and bounces off the walls. Sometimes it’s about random shit, other times it’s about things that are ‘actually funny’. I notice how much I love making other people laugh. I love, love, love, how humour ripples. I love how it’s contagious. Me as well as just feel me. That, along with the video below, is a good reason to laugh. March 17, 2014.

A Metaphorical Mind | Life is a metaphor — just like this sentence.

Life is a metaphor just like this sentence. Happy Independence Day, India! How Education Can Free India’s People. Posted in Editorial: Thoughts and Rants. Happy Independence Day, India! But I was spared the hardships that so many millions of people suffer everyday. Recently, I learned that India is the home to 287 million illiterate people. When you can actually realize how many people this disables from having a job, having rights, having an opportunity to do. Education is what can free the world, and e...

Inside out

Onde germina calada a podridão. Porque os outros se calam mas tu não. Porque os outros se compram e se vendem. E os seus gestos dão sempre dividendo. Porque os outros são hábeis mas tu não. Porque os outros calculam mas tu não.
